The Putrajaya Botanical Garden is still open, but some of the facilities are not available due to the ongoing virus. So there’s no bike hire or boat rides etc, basically anything that requires staff. At times it felt like I had the entire place to myself such was the dearth of visitors. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, with some great trails of gardens, forests and even a canopy walk. A great place to see some lovely plants.

Nice and peaceful park. Nice views over a lake. I went on a Thursday morning and was the only one in the park (apart from the maintenance staff). Plenty of toilets around and rubbish bins. You can rent a bike, but I just walked around.

The Putrajaya Botanical Gardens is a lovely place to get away from the KL crowds on the weekends. Lots of meandering paths and themed gardens to check out. Bring a picnic basket, some outdoor games & make a family day out out of it.
Admission into the park is free, but there are several attractions/services (i.e. cycle hire, boating, an interactive exhibition and a tram ride) for which separate fees apply.
I do recommend renting a bicycle for touring the park. Absolutely lovely, not to mention good exercise! Also, the interactive science exhibition (located in the main building) provides interesting & lightweight education for kids and adults alike.

We have been here on one of the Sunday. It's nice place for relaxing from busy city life, jogging, cycling, picnic. Greenery view of scenery suitable for taking photo. Be well prepared with sunblock, hat and water. Bike can be rent at RM 4/ hour, and also tram service available. But was disappointed with the customer service during weekend. There was only one front staff in charge at the counter during the Sunday we went, causing queuing time longer. And by the time he serve us, no more bike to be hire. So, we requested tram service, was told, no tram service too. If wish to hire bike, have to fill up the booking form to be in waiting list. We decided to walk and exploring around. Moroccan Pavillion is quite worth to visit with free admission, and nice place for photo shooting with its unique designed building. There's a big lake at the center as well, if you wish to have boat tour, such service also provided at charge. Overall, it's place for recreational activities with friends or family. Service need to be improved especially during weekend.

You should rent a bicycle from the information counter which will cost you RM5 only/hour. Exploring while walking will surely exhausting you up as the area of the garden is big. While cycling, head over to an area by the lake, just before the wooden jetty facing Prime Minister house. Over there, you can try to make a swing by the hanging roots of the tree and snap a beautiful picture by the lakeside. Continue your cycle up to the hill and stop by the oil palm trees area where you can see a flight of swallow. Be ready to place your finger on the shutter button to capture the moment of the swallow flying above you. The sky in Putrajaya is quite beautiful too. On a very good day, the sky will be very blue and full beautiful form of clouds. Just beside the oil palm area, there's a adventurous cycling place with small man made hills for you to try. Bring foods for picnicking will be good too as there's no dedicated store selling cooked food unless you're rich enough to try their seafood restaurant by the lake there.

Simply amazing for an evening walk or even a picnic with family/friends.
Bring bread and you can feed the fishes in the lake, especially if you have kids.

I went there when they was organizing Flora Exhibition in Presint 4 (it had ended), it iwas fun as i can learn a lot species of wild orchids and other plants.
Good for natural photographer to take pictures about gorgeous flowers. Please bring selfie stick to snap your picture with the stunning orchids. 😁
Recommended to bring water bottle, hat and wear sandals or flat shoes (no high-heels please!) if you are visiting on a sunny and hot day. I bet, there are just a few shady trees for you too rest if you are exhausted!
Please check the festival that they are organizing before you go there, or else, you will find it is kind of boring. However, if you are nature lover, better have a stroll in the evening with family, friends, or couples instead!
For the Flora Exhibition i just went, i need to pay RM 5 for Malaysian adult.

Only if you want to see greenery, jog or cycle - then this is the place to be in Putrajaya. Even with the greenery, the place is just so hot. While we were there, there was a Malay wedding going on the way to the Moroccan Pavillion. I would be sweating my butt off if I was the bride!
We bought tickets to the Moroccan Pavillion which I think is rather pricey for what you actually see. The surroundings is free to walk around but if you want to enter to see the rooms, you have to pay. Not worth it! They were playing Malay Rock Music in all the rooms which was such a turn off.

May I know what is the timing to visit here? Is it hot (sunny day) if we visit around 3pm?
Written 1 October 2017
Better in the morning before 11am. If you want to visit in the afternoon, will be a bit hot. Some part of the garden not cover by big tree. Depends on weather too, sometimes no wind at all, you will sweat thru even just slow walk.
