This is interesting to see, but be prepared to read a lot. Some exhibits were not labeled i.e. there were some wooden. Molds ... were they for candy making?

Whilst unassuming, this small slice of Penang's history was both entertaining and informative. Staffed by [mostly] young personnel, the level of knowledge and insight was far beyond that available in mere "text books"; a very interesting and enlightening hour-or-so, much enjoyed.

If you are a tourist (ie "Foreigner") steer well clear of this overpriced museum. Visit the state museum instead and learn far more at a fraction of the price. Upstairs photo opportunities might appeal to some but I thought were tawdry.

Love the place, lits of exhibits with explanations. Very goid if you're interested in Penang/M'sia history. Another plus point is the 3Dmurals upstairs, and they have staff stand by to assist in photography in. Ase if you're not sure which angle or how to post!

My son found this museum and we loved it. Downstairs you get a fantastic overview of the history of Penang and upstairs you have some fun. Entrance fees we thought were very reasonable. We have some great photos to remember our time in Penang. We...More
