Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The first part of the museum consisted of more traditional museum displays with sculptures and panels describing the history of Penang. Unfortunately, the group I was with was not willing to slow down and read the panels. Nonetheless, I believe it can be an informative and comprehensive exhibition for interested visitors. The second part of the museum consisted of murals and props for taking quirky photos. The staff was enthusiastic and helpful in directing us on how to pose as well as snapping photos for us on our devices. It was a fun place for our group to get some humorous and cute photos, though we did get tired of posing towards the end. You can download a discount voucher from the official website, which will allow you to pay RM 2 less per person. You can also get a free postcard if you like and share the official Facebook page.

My son found this museum and we loved it. Downstairs you get a fantastic overview of the history of Penang and upstairs you have some fun. Entrance fees we thought were very reasonable. We have some great photos to remember our time in Penang. We recommend a visit

Visited this place yesterday. Not worth the entry fee of 38RM! I cant see where the entry Fee is being spent? (no maintenance on exhibits) took all of 15 minutes to walk through the whole place!

The crowd weren't handled well. It was like a fish market that people were fighting each other to take pictures. No staff were assisting the people to make a proper flow..

We apologize for the inconvenience experienced, as public holidays and school holidays can bring in a swell of visitor numbers, sometimes beyond the expectations of Penang Time Tunnel. We are a fairly new set-up and plans to improve and regulate the flow of visitors during 'peak season' is always a priority. We thank you for pointing out the areas that need improvement, and assure you that we'll do our best to look into the matter. As you were unable to fully enjoy the Time Tunnel on that busy day, we offer you a free visit again whenever you happen to be in Penang. Please drop by anytime for a second visit.

The place was not difficult to find. There is great potential for the place and content to be better. For now, it is just not worth visiting, not yet.

We went really to pass some time between other activities we had booked but were so glad we did, it was great fun.
The turbulent history of Penang and its various stages of occupation and its wartime challenges were explained through signage, artefacts, pictures and video displays. It was also great to see so many pictures of ‘them and now’ to see how little some areas have actually changed over the decades. To be honest the only thing confusing is the association with any form of tunnel, we didn’t see why it needed to be set in a series of ‘tunnels’.
The second section is pure fun so get the camera ready and start posing for a whole range of interactive photos against luminous 3D backgrounds. Just trust the guide at each section when they get you to pose and wait for the end result.
It’s not a sales scam, they use you phone/camera, they are simply there to help.
Educational with some wacky fun thrown in. Great place to visit.

We happened to come here as a recommendation from our driver/guide. We weren’t sure about going to a museum but actually it was really good fun. The kids loved it.

You walk around a time tunnel with the history of Penang which was brilliant and kids enjoyed the sets.

Then came the fun part. There are many 3 d interactive paintings. The staff are there to take photos of you with all the backgrounds.

It really was good fun and we would highly recommend it particularly with kids.

The entrance fee allows you to take photos with your phone so in the end you have a really interesting collection.

This place is a great visit to learn about the history of Penang. The pictures are arranged well and they have other exhibits of clothes, dishes, and furniture of the era. You get a really good idea of life over the last 200 years.
