I went to the 2pm tour time slot. The guide did a great job in explaining how the late owner earned his fortune in China to build this huge mansion in Penang and also bring us to see the the areas and the rooms. I...More

A wonderful glimpse back in time and history. This house has been well restored. We have visited a number of times and learnt something new every time, obviously no preset blurb to 'spew out' at tourists. The history of the house and it's origin is...More

A gracious, well appointed historic property we would highly recommend to all. Centrally located to the historic sights of Georgetown, good food, shops and street art. We stayed in the garden Nanyang room which was close to the pool. The room is quiet and large...More

If you like a little history or decor for pictures it's a pretty good place. The price is a little too much to me personally for what it offered, but no doubt its a nice place to look at.

I've read some reviews where people have railed against the lengthy oral presentation and the seeming lack of "things to see" here. Be advised The Blue Mansion is not a conventional museum stuffed with things to look at. It also functions as a heritage hotel...More

The house is absolutely stunning. It's worth a visit for sure. Check the timetables for visits in advance since there are only a few every day. You can't access the house without taking a tour. The tours are in English and Mandarin. Our tour was...More

You would think that a refurbished place would have lost its essence, but no - the Blue Mansion still has that charm and vibe that it once housed stories of an era lost. It was once run down and glad that the group of people...More
