Booked a 3Day 2Night Tour with NKS. Really enjoyed my trip, all meals, transport, accommodation and guides included. Stayed at Han Rainforest Resort which had a free van pickup service to transfer you too and from the river for each activity. Nice facilities. Great guide...More

First of all, attempting a trip to Taman Negara all by yourself could be a tricky proposition. There are only 2 buses available to & fro from KL to TN, last one at 1.30 pm. It takes approx 5 hours from KL to reach TN...More

The Taman Negara national park is the largest national park in Malaysia. Deemed to be one of the oldest rainforest in the world. However, i would like to recommend the park office to limit the number of people visiting the park. Besides, increase the park...More

It is advised to go on a weekday to fully enjoy Taman Negara. Weekends and long holidays tend to attract lots of locals who crowd the place. This means, the canopy walk, orang asli village and even night walk will be crowded.... I would recommend...More

This national park is easy to explore alone or with a group. The paths are very well marked and for the most part well maintained. If you want to see animals- go on a night hike with a guide who can point out some insects...More

How do I explore Taman Negara alone? I am staying at a hotel inside the park. Are the trails well marked and populated with other hikers? Most day tours seem very expensive and leave from KL, making stops on the way. Since I'm staying inside the park, it would be a waste of money to pay for a tour that starts from KL. Are there tour groups I can join inside the park? OR- how to I get a guide/ how much does it cost?

Ps: if you do want a guide for the immediate park area just ask your hotel or take the three second boat across the river to the little town - any homestay can link you up. Same goes for backcountry guides. I don't know... More

Yes. I recommend staying in the small village across the river from the park in any of the guesthouses there. Mostly because you'll have access to more food options and small shops / independence. The park itself offers a... More
