Unlike other black-sand beaches, this sand isn't volcanic in nature but rather is streaked black by run-off from a nearby hot spring.

Visited there recently on my way to the Temurun waterfalls. There is very little black sand left from the geological erosion. The beach is average. The facilities around this attraction is rundown and not well kept. Not really worth going.

I remember came here with my parents when i'm sma but now the black sand almost like extinct. I dig the beach, the black sand is shining. I happy to see it & take some home. It bring up the memories. The places look like run out, there is small shops, souvenirs is still cheap in there.

We first visited here in 1981 when it really was black sand, very little left, that said beautiful scenery if you ignore the ugly enormous cement works in the left, you have to walk through some tacky stalls as well. Not worth going out of your way for but if you're passing have a look

If you have a day to lounge about and an urge to get away from the bustle of the rest of the island's planned activities and attractions, go to this beach. It's a rather narrow strip of sand, black is due to fossilised sediment and petroleum products!! Not much to do here except run around on the beach and maybe... More

We visited the beach as part of a taxi tour of the island. Interesting to hear about the volcanic history.

The beach itself is quite cool and very quiet. Unfortunately, when you look across the water all you notice is a big factory. I've no idea what is made there, but for me, it made me reluctant to swim there. The water didn't look as clear as other beaches. However, we had a nice relaxing picnic there and chilled out... We're glad we went to Black Sand Beach because it was the only one that wasn't crowded with tourists. In fact, we went on a weekday morning and were the only ones there. Very little of the beach is actually black sand.

Drove on scooters all the way from the other side of the island expecting to find a black beach, reality is a regular sandy beach and spots of black here and there and s muddy shore line probably from the cement factory near by!

A quet beach with a great view of the cement factory ; the only black sand to be seen is in the water channels running down into the beach. Keep driving.
