We drove up and took us about an hour from Cenang Beach. We found out that the hiking route is no longer accessible (pretty sad because I am sure they have great surrounding). Hence, the only way up is by driving. Saw few monkeys along our drive and eagles. We did not went up to the hotel's tower. However, still... More

This is not a place that tourists to Langkawi usually visit. Which is why you should visit. While Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands are higher in elevation, Gunung Raya is probably colder during the day. The road up there is usually deserted and you get a fantastic view at certain parts. Some people say they saw hornbills and eagles. We... More

There is a big resort called coconut hill resort(which is on the verge of closing and not maintained at all)... More

The view from the observation balcony of the hotel is breathtaking! You get a 360 view of the island. This is not a well kept hotel. There are no amenities on the top. There is a restroom in the hotel but that is it. Nevertheless, the view from the very top is stunning! The cost to go to the balcony... More

Nice view at the top of the mountain, the best thing is the cold fresh air blown away the heaty after a long day under the hot sun. If the resort up there can be well maintained then there will be a credit to visit Gunung Raya.

We drove up the mountain late afternoon. Having been on the skycab I expected something amazing and have to say I was disappointed. The views are stunning, but the setting at the top is derelict and run down. They could do so much more with it. We ended up getting out of the car for 2 minutes, taking a quick... More

To climb up the mountain using the 4200 steps is amazing. Not only for your fitness but you can also discover wide range of wildlife. Besides you escape from the tourist places. Once you reach the top a nice view might wait for you. But who cares about the view, the journey to the summit is the real beauty.
