Majority of the stalls are either fruit juices or snacks/food.perhaps they ought to rename it ‘Kuah food market’there is not much merchandise worth buying.

I’ve visited the night market at Ayer Hangat on Friday night. It was amazing! Lots of fruit, meat and a variety of local dishes. Make sure you come hungry! Only thing you would have to sit on a porch or just work and eat your food ad there are no places to sit.

Happened to stay at a nearby hotel when we passed by the night market at around 5pm. All the vans were about to set up their stalls. So i checked with google and it said that sunday nights, the night market will happen here. So with an empty stomach we drove there, it was super near but we have an infant with us so we drove.. Thankfully the school opposite the night market was open for the night market patrons to park at a fee of Rm 2. Parking at the sides require skills which im not equiped with.

The night market or "Pasar malam" in Malay, was not as huge as others but it was enough to go through their local dishes. First in line was the appam balik filled with crushed peanuts, sugar and sweet corn. A popular food item there which we queued (a long queue) was the Nasi Kandar with ayam berempah. Many stalls selling Ayam percik ( marinated chicken barbecued and usually eaten with their sauce (peanut or sambal sauce). We also bought Nasi kukus with ayam berempah (steamed rice with spiced fried chicken) for the baby. Other stalls selling Yong taufu, nuggets/fishball on sticks. Overall, the Nasi kandar was worth it. And the wifey loves the food there.

Every Wednesday and Saturday an interesting large food market opens up in Kuah next to the Golden Sands hotel. The majority of customers are locals enjoying the vast array of Malaysian dishes and a stroll with the family in the warm evening after sundown, so it isn't at all touristy. Even some of the vendors seem to be non professionals offering the best from their home menu and explaining willingly in English about the dishes and their ingredients. Fresh exotic fruit like durians, mangoes and lychees are also sold at reasonable prices. In daytime the low buildings next door are the place to shop in Kuah, tax free is widely advertised, but I bought cotton batiks, shopping bags featuring Van Gogh paintings and nice flip flops with rafflesia flowers

Night market at Langkawi located at different place every night. Basically you can Google and you will know which night market is located at every different days. In fact in Langkawi, taking a Grab to night market is so convenient. There is so many great variety of food and many people will visit the night market. The price is reasonable and some consider super cheap. But for cleanliness wise not all will be able to accept it. In fact, I love going around the night market looking at different variety of food they sell but I don't consume the food at night market and I'm very selective on the food I purchased from night market esp I'm on Solo Trip. Is a nice experience

Try the local food, as there are many to choose from, and they are priced low and reasonably. Highly recommended but plan your stay carefully as the night market moves to different location daily. Otherwise, you can always taxi your way there!

I think it's definitely a must do if you're a foody. We tried some really nice stuff. One great thing we tried was these strips of marinated and grilled lamb. I also tried apam which is a sweet a sweet and crispy crepe thing with sweet corn, butter, sugar and cinnamon inside. One of the downfalls was that a lot of the food was cooked and left to go cold and we were a little lost on what each dish was. This was one of my favourite activities on the island as everything else is kind of tacky and touristy.

It was alright. You can try a lot of local food here. The stuff otherwise is of subpar quality and you can find better at cenang walk.
