Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nicely renovated and clean area with bars, restaurants leading to the harbour. Nice for a stroll and a drink. It is geared towards tourists tonight, so don’t expect the Best buys and food.good for a few drinks in the evening I would say (at inflated price).

Just walk the soul on a spring afternoon and spend the rest of the evening in a pub.
The authentic look and feel of the town and the soul in specific makes the journey like a back to the future.
Scenery and fun guaranteed.

This place must be the ending of Byblos tourism, at a time the music begins... Someone can walk and make shopping to buy gifts and souvenirs, and then have a seat to drink or eat something and enjoy the night life of Byblos and Lebanon.

I loved walking around the old souk- talking to people and eating the best food in the world. I bought some priceless Lebanese artifacts. The people of Byblos touched my heart.

It was Saturday morning when we left Beirut with a private tour guide we had booked through our hotel, to visit Byblos..well, I must admit that I am a very patient person but I never imagined what was in store for me...the traffic out of the city was simply atrocious, appalling, it took us almost two hours for a 45 minutes drive..After this traffic - car odyssey we finally arrived at Byblos totally worn'd out without much energy to walk around the city, not mentioning the 75% humidity. We finally settled at a restaurant for a quick bite with frequent power cuts , going afterwards for a stroll at the souks..nice shops, very kind people, but too tourist oriented for my liking..Future travelers take heed before you go there of the horrific traffic and be prepared for a long long drive..

The vendors in the old souk are the most children unfriendly souk attendants we have encountered across worlds top bazaars and souks that my family and I have visited. The merchandise is obsolete and reflects cheap manufacturing that appeals to young tourists coming from other Lebanese areas. The shops should be attended by tourist friendly non racial staff and owners, should learn how to communicate with children who are not natured with violence and away from aggression and also offer more variety of cultural artefacts and souvenirs and local craftsmanship to appeal to those who cross thousands of miles to experience a civilisation 1000s of yrs old. Looking fwd to go back and see the needed change
