What is interesting about the shrine is the story about the handprints on the rocks which give their name to Iwate which means "Rock Hand" . The lovely legend around the handprints and the quietness and unpretentiousness of the ancient shrine make it well worth a visit. It is within walking distance from the Hoonji Temple, so it is a...
