Just one of several interesting covered arcades

Heiwadori was billed as the best covered arcade branching off Kokusaidori, and while it is a great shopping area, it's not really that different from any of the other arcades. The shops along the way are mostly smaller momo-and-pop type stores rather than the larger stores outside. It was an interesting walk and I looked in some of the shops... More

Heiwadori is an undergroud shopping experience with vendors of all kinds, clothing, massage, food, glassware, luggage, etc. You'll find all your best take home gifts here. Make sure you check prices, a vendor will barter with you if you found the same thing at another shop! Must have the Japanese tacos, so good.

After awhile all the malls seem to join up and interlink. The shops all start to look the same. Although there are a variety of shops selling different things, they all start to sell similar things in all the malls. Not sure how they survive selling small souvenirs. These malls stretch a long way, starting one end at the main... More

The place that you need to go if you are in Okinawa Naha. Many shops there in local style. Beware where you are as you can easily get lost in between. ;) But Not spending too much time there as most of the shop is similar.

This is a nice market in Naha. From grocery to other shopping products can be bought from this market. A currency exchange machine is also available near the Makishi market.

Impossible not to be amazed by these galleries... it's not just not just one street, it keeps going through different blocks. Mostly shops selling souvenirs, a huge dollar shop (Daiso) near the main entrance, lots of Okinawan traditional food souvenirs, clothes, etc. If you walk far enough then you stumble upon the more local shops, selling clothes, underwear, dry fish,... A great place for souvenir shopping! There is a wide variety of stores. We enjoyed shopping for beachwear and browsing more traditional shops filled with handmade goods.
