Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The guide took me to Horikiri Pass. When I first saw it, I was impressed by the blue sea and the devil's washboard that can be seen on the coastline. The scene I have seen on TV many times was right in front of me. It was a hot day, but I forgot about the heat and was fascinated by the coastline. There is a roadside station up ahead, so I think it would be better to take your time and see it from the roadside station.

Along the way to Udo-Jingu Shrine, stopped at this beautiful site to admire the beautiful view. The amazing rock formation always interesting as looked like scales or spines of a dragon.

View the weird rock formations (the washboards) and sample the local shopping in the road house. Sample your first mango ice cream if just arrived at this part of Japan or even shrimp icecream or one of the other alternatives. Called in when driving south to the lighthouse. Road stop for tourists groups. WC available.

A good site for viewing Aoshima on the left in far distance, and found the lines of eroded rocks extended further to the right on the coastline of Nichinan.
Little disappointed as I thought I could watch the aerial view of Aoshima (as in post card) from there.
It was very windy in mid-Oct.

Typical ocean road journey, places to stop and take breathtaking pictures, and memories of your trip. It is more stimulating than taking the highway.

This roadside stop is a good way to gaze over the surrounding coastline. It is just across the road from the Phoenix roadhouse. Watch out for birds of prey soaring along the cliffs.
