子飼商店街の入口近くに白川わくわくランドがあり、週末の土日にも地域に開放され、白川の過去と現在の姿の展示があり、自然を学ぶセンターの役割を果たしている。

白川沿いの河川情報センター（無料）

白川わくわくランドは、共同日覆いのアーケードが素敵な子飼商店街北詰近くにある熊本河川国道事務所が運営する河川情報センター（無料）です。
早朝訪問のため館内見学は出来ませんでしたが、熊本市内を流れる白川の眺めが良く、河川の仕組や白川の歴史に関する屋外案内板などもあり、散策時の休憩場所として適当な場所でした。
