This aquarium is nice and accessible with a baby, but the fish and the exhibitions are nothing special. Coming from Europe I was expecting something other than what I am used to, but the selection did not differ much from European aquariums.
Went for a visit this morning before flying back home. Loved the Dolphins Performance at 12:00nn although we missed the 10:30am one as we thought it was Weekdays but they put the shows on Summer Vacation schedule instead, so we had to kill time at...More
Excellent place for kids to enjoy the dolphin show. Worth visiting during your visit to Kagoshima.
Can learn about how the volcanic activities affect the ocean life. A very good place for learning geography and biology.

We stumbled upon this lovely aquarium and visited on the spur of the moment. It was a great way to spend a few hours. The exhibits are really well arranged, the animals all looked healthy and happy (although don't dolphins always look happy?), and there...More
An exceptional aquarium experience with very well-designed exhibits. A great variety of aquatic life, with an especially big tank full of many fish upon entry (and a ride up an escalator). Dolphin shows for kids and adults alike, and many education displays as well. Part...More
Some interesting stuff to look at.
Japanese only shows but focus on the visuals and it is interesting enough.
You can get to the basement level of the dolphin tank and get seriously face to face with the dolphins. If you don't like zoos don't...More
This was my first ever visit to an aquarium and I thought it was great.
I went at the end of the day so only had about 45 mins before it closed, but it was plenty of time to see what I wanted. I was...More
