There is plenty to see at Amu Plaza from special Japanese nibbles to many floors of Japanese goods and merchandise. One store in particularly that spans a few levels of Amu Plaza is 'Tokyu Hands', where there is an abundance of everything from the quirky and cute to every day practical products. The top floors are dedicated to dining, with... More

Due to the depreciation of the Japanese yen, what was once coined as an uber expensive culture, is now accessible to travellers. By no means, is shopping comparable to its South East Asian counterparts. However, it was fun to explore the various variety from food to clothes. Enjoy

Amu Plaza is a shopping complex, which is directly linked to JR Hakata station. It is extremely convenient for shoppers, because almost everything can be found in Amu Plaza. On the 9th and the 10th floors, there are many nice restaurants, where you can enjoy different specialities of Japanese and foreign cuisine. On the rooftop there is a pleasant garden,... More

I travelled to Hakata from Osaka by JR, got off at Hakata for a bowl of Kyushu Ramen and the most convenient spot is Hakata City Amu, I ate at the Shin Shin Ramen at Amu Plaza and sent my post card by the post office at Amu.

This mall situated over the Hakata Railway Station has just everything to shop for. Hankyu department store occupied the south wing and Tokyo Hands on the north. Amu Plaza in the middle houses numerous japanese brands of lifestyles and clothings etc that you can shop until drop. In the basement there is the food hall and a busy food street... More

If you are catching a train or bus or starting work early or finishing late you can find anything from a souvenir to a great meal for a pittance! The Christmas lights outside were amazing.

Mostly local brands of clothings. Level one has a good tibits store which you can get most of local soveniors all in one place. Suggest to walk further into mall to taste test if unsure.

This shopping mall is right next to the JR hakata station, there were many shops and many dining options for you to choose from. I'm sure you can find something that you like here. The mall also next to Marui as well, you can spend whole day shopping here.

Hakata Station is the unofficial center of the city. The mall is so huge that you are bound to get lost in it. Its full of things to do, various restaurants and even supermarkets. Lots of option for shopping too. If you start roaming around here, you want even now when the time passes away. That too all above a... More
