首切り地蔵を過ぎたら、滝坂の道から北側へ分かれて登ると、奥山ドライブウェイに出るが、そのちょっと手前にある。なんと全部で十数体あるらしいが、自分には十体ちょっとしか判別できず、残念だった。直前の道が急で、また多少判りづらいので、注意して案内板を見落とさないように。

奈良時代の石仏が見られるなんて

奈良の世界遺産　春日大社の東の春日原始林の中に奈良時代に彫られたとおもわれる石仏があります。
まわりは金網とトタン屋根でおおわれているので　少し遠くからしか
拝めませんが　はっきりと　仏様の形がうかがわれます
奈良時代につくられたものが　こんな山の中で平成の現代まで残っているなんて奇跡のようです。

綺麗な案内板がありました

奈良奥山ドライブウェイの途中にあるのですが、こんなところに
なぜと思うような場所に石窟仏がありました。
綺麗な案内板があり、金網が貼ってある向こうに、石窟仏を観ることが
できました。

保護のために金網で囲まれていました。２つの洞窟があり、１つには地蔵様たちが、もう１つには、大日如来様と阿弥陀如来様が彫られていました。
