Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It takes about 15 minutes by municipal liner from Toba Marine Terminal. Toshijima itself is a large island, while Wagu Port and Toshi Port, where settlements are located, are on opposite sides of the island. You can taste a little boat trip. The village is a fishing village itself. The simplicity remains.

We spent 2 nights here explored the island. We swam at sunshine beach and had lunch at the small cafes. It was hot but worth it. We saw the shrines and visited the grave of the pirate/sea lord Kuki Yoshitaka his head was buried on the mountain top and his body just below outside of a small cluster of homes. I’d recommend getting a bike to explore, preferably an electric. The hot spring hotel we stayed in was dated but very charming. The food amazing I’ll post a full review of that place.

This island is really charming- walking around the island with the fishermen and diving women sitting out taking care of the daily catch, chatting with them and hearing about their life, seeing the lovely village - the best way to explore island life in Japan.
