Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice place to enjoy with families, and nice activities for couples and groups.
It got a Zoo, amusement park and adorable dogs showcase.
Took a couple of hours to get here from Osaka by car. You may be interesting drive into the Zoo. All you have to do is just make sure your car filled up before entry. But, hey! most predators are chilled.
Anyway, it's really comfortable to watch animals from your own car.
If you are interesting in roller coaster, you should ride on the Hurricane and Venus GP. It was amazing experience. Hurricane is my repeat ride. One of most exciting roller coaster was canceled due to construction.
TRY these! Only a few groups were waiting for the line.

It is a nice park. There is a drive through safari. You can see the tigers and lions just outside your car. Afterwards, you can park the car and walk through the park to feed the animals. I won't recommend going there through public transportation since you have to walk up the hill. The entrance fee is 3100 yen for adult only for the zoo. It is separated from the theme park.

There seems to be some confusion among previous reviewers (both in English and Japanese) between the Himeji park and city zoo which is located immediately in front of Himeji Castle in the middle of Himeji City and the Himeji Central Park Safari theme park located among the small mountains just outside of Himeji City, My comments pertain to the theme park and its "safari".
Like other “safari parks”, Himeji Central Park Safari features a “Drive-through Safari” area in which visitors can either drive through in their own cars or ride the park’s bus, and a “Walking Safari” area. If you ride the park's bus, it will cost you 800 yen on top of the 2900 yen admission charge. Furthermore, the buses depart at fixed times and tickets for the bus are distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. Although we arrived at the park just after 10:00a.m., we were not able to board the 10:30 buses and had to wait until 11:30.
I found that riding the park's bus on the “Drive-through Safari” is not really conducive to taking photographs, and it is not satisfying for visitors who want to take a good long look at each of the animals that are kept only in this part of the park. If you want to take photos here, it would be better to rent a car and drive yourself. But even then, a controller sitting in a watchtower uses a PA system to tell drivers to keep the line of cars moving.
The "walking safari" emphasizes opportunities for visitors to get very close to, and to interact with, the resident animals. There are numerous coin-operated food dispensers, and visitors are encouraged to feed many of the animals and to even touch some of the animals. Depending on your way of thinking, these interactions in the form of feeding, touching, and photo opportunities either make for a unique and memorable time with the animals, or are accidents waiting to happen.
I have more detailed comments in my blog:

Visiting this park was the one and only complete waste of time, money and effort during all my travels in japan.
Getting there as a non japanese is challenging, but doable. once there you pay 3100 admission, then you are required to pay for literally every attraction or buy an expensive free pass.
However, the Diavolo roller coaster is a nice ride. Everything else isn't worth a visit.
Better go to space park or nagashima spaland. Or to the new yamaguchi zoo, if you want to see animals.
The plus side: nobody blocks your way, because this park is almost as deserted as derelict nara dreamworld...

i have been to many safari parks in my time and my most pressing importance is the treatment and natural habitat of the animals,
whilst the park is very lovely to look at and to explore the actual living conditions of the animals is to be questioned.
there are clearly mentally ill animals there pacing back and forth in confined spaces, i did not see much mental activity for them at all,
most animals i saw were sleeping or spaced out !!!!!!
the monkeys and bears are kept in a unnatural concrete cavern with clearly not much to do.
granted you can probably say that these animals were rescued animals and i hope they were because if they were raised there then questions should be asked.
if you are going to keep animals caged in enclosures then at least give them places to hide from the public and give them different mental stimulus activity.

It was a nice park to sit and relax for a short time. Not much there to see/do but was nice to get off the street for a short time.

If you want to relax and stroll, this is the park to be in. Busy at the peak of cherry blossom times and autumn, there are still beautiful scenes to be had outside the peak times. No longer a place for locals to cycle has made this park much quieter than it was, oh well.

Japan is known for its immaculate gardens. Himeji park is no exception. This is a great way to ease the mind while getting great exercise.

DO NOT bother wasting your time or money to go here. We paid 50,000 Yen for round trip bus, entry and safari park bus ride and all we got to do was the safari park bus ride which took about 30mins! If you want to go on ANY rides or do ANY of the attractions you need to pay another 30,000 Yen on top of the entrance fee for unlimited rides or pay between 300-800 Yen for each ride. Not to mention the whole water park section wasn’t even open, and we visited in Summer! Worst theme park I have ever spent (wasted) our money at. Biggest disappointment of Japan. They normally do things so well but not this place. Not sure how it is still operating, it is run down and derelict and there were more staff than guests. Felt like a ghost town. They should not charge full entry to the park if half of it is not open. I won’t even bother mentioning the awful choices for food. So annoyed that we wasted half a day of our holiday here. Himeji is a great city but this place is an embarrassment!!

While the Diavlo roller-coaster was pretty awesome, the rest of this theme park was far below average. A large majority of the rides were closed, some were posted at entry, however others weren't, it was quite disappointing. The reasons for giving this 2/5 are because the staff were welcoming and friendly at least, and Diavlo was good, until they closed it too.
