Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The only guy who speaks English and its at the station to check the JR passes shouldnt be working there. The less proffesional japanese person I have ever met.
He is rude and helpless.
I had a jr pass which was lost at ueno station, after all the trouble to find it, The officer of ueno station called me to say it was there. I also had the proof of JR pass purchase which showed my name and my passport, even all of the proof I showed to this guy and even all my effort to explain him everything he did not let me go to the train based that my jr pass was not there phisically talking to me in a very bad and rude manners instead of helping me and put himself into my shoes after all day trying to find the JR pass. Please be careful with him.

We took the direct train from Shinjuku and it stops at Tobu Nikko station. there is only limited direct trains so please check and reserve your tickets! at Tobu nikko station you can purchase your bus passes and tickets for the attractions in nikko. do buy your tickets for Toshogo shrine here as we saw long queues at the entrance.

I know, it's a train station, so of course, it was clean and the trains are punctual. Bonus - there is a small shop across the street where you can get last-minute Nikko souvenirs and freshly baked buns! It was getting dark and cold and we were hungry, so I grabbed a few - pork, red beans, and I believe curry beef, to tie us over until we got back to Tokyo Central Station.

When you take the limited express Tobu train from Asakusa to Nikko your journey will end at Tobu Nikko Station. As you get down from the down you will note that the station is very close to nature with vegetation bordering the station. Once you come out of the station you will find that it is located in a beautiful setting with quite a few cafes surrounding it. The station looks very cute from outside with the mountain as a background. The Tobu world heritage bus stop is located right outside the station. However it is only when you get back to the station for your return journey to Asakusa and when you have time at hand that you realise that the station is rather small and only have the minimal basic facilities. There is a quadrangular sitting area enclosed by a few cafes, departmental stores and the ubiquitous souvenir stores. However most of these shops start downing their shutters by 4.30 PM.The earlier day in the evening that station appeared almost deserted in the evening. In case you do not get a place to sit I would suggest that you head to the platform where your Spacia Tobu limited express train will be waiting. There are a few vending machines in the platform from where you can pick up drinks.

This station has an information office selling tickets for bus transport and passes to the shrines. Has food and beverage outlets (2) which will be handy if you need something to eat while waiting for the trains. Can get cold in the waiting area during winter months, so it is not a place to "warm up".

This train station is modern, well-lighted and airy. Train station staffs carry out their duties very efficiently to avoid long queues.

This is a small and clean railway station. It has a tourist information counter as well as counters for booking buses, etc. It also has 2 or 3 stalls selling snacks and souvenirs. Just outside the train station is a bus-stop where you can catch ride to the places you are visiting.

From Tokyo, we arrived at this small, crowded station. It had all of the usual amenities -- food, souvenirs, restrooms but not many places to sit. Surrounding the station were lots of shops for more food and souvenirs. We came across this delicious treat -- frozen mochi with a strawberry in the middle. You need to thaw it out for an hour. We took it with us and by the time we headed up the mountain back to our hotel, it was ready to eat. Extremely delicious. Figured I could find it throughout Japan. Well, no such luck. Should've stocked up in Nikko..
