小さな祠

近くの旅館に泊まっていて、翌朝神橋方面へ行く時道路左側にありました　向かって左側に「延命地蔵太士」と彫られた大きくて立派な石碑があり見に行きましたが、小さな朱色の祠があるだけでした　ここよりも隣接する釈迦堂のほうが見ごたえがありました

赤い御堂

国道120号沿いの田母沢御用邸の向かい側に建つ小さい御堂です。
室町時代に、湯ノ湖付近に狩猟に出かけた領主が、傍らの勝道上人が自ら刻み弟子が祀っていた地蔵尊を信心せず、地蔵様に対して良くない行状に及んだところ、地蔵尊の霊験で懲らしめられ、改心して地蔵尊を崇拝するようになった・・と言う伝承の説明板が立っています。
元々は湯ノ湖付近に祀られていたのが、当時は湯ノ湖や中宮祠周辺が女人禁制だったため参拝の便宜も図り、上人ゆかりの現在地に。
犬牽地蔵の別称の言われなど、記述内容たっぷりの説明板でした。
