Even though Hakone Yuryo was the ONLY day-use (not staying overnight) private onsen that has an english website, it turned out to be everything we hoped for. I made a reservation via email as the receptionist did not really speak english when I called them....More

This Onsen is recommended with the Hakone Day pass. It is located 3 minutes by shuttle bus. Excellent choice if your priority is to go to an Onsen in Hakone. I would say the averaged time spent from start to finish would be about 2...More

The free shuttle bus was great as we were picked up from the train station. Other than that ... it wasn't much of a deal. If you've got a bathtub at home then don't go. I was bored after 10 minutes. I used the private...More

We chose to end our busy day at Hakone Yuryo. What a beautiful way to relax! We hired a private type 2 onsen. Everything was perfect, you get a small little sitting room and your private hot spa which is lovely at night. Pure bliss!

When you visit Hakone, be sure to visit an onsen. Decided to visit Hakone Yuryo which is a resort but open to public as well. We drove and there is ample parking in the resort. Booked a private bath for 4,000 yen, which is a...More

We booked a private room in advance as we were not keen on public nudity. There is a regular free shuttle bus from the station to the onsen, which is well signposted in the station itself. We arrived 30 mins early for our booking, but...More

Don’t go with little children. They don’t let them enter.

Yes there is a changing room. The private onsen consists of 3 areas: the living room, the changing room, and the pool (onsen) area.
