This was a day well spent in the outdoors away from the skyscrapers of Tokyo. We went by coach.
The place was scenic with lots of greenery. Parking is huge and one has to walk for 5-10 minutes to reach the entry point, get the...More
We went to the ropeway as part of a day trip and it was quite late in the afternoon by the time we arrived and the weather had turned cold and cloudy. It was a bit of a waste of time. There are a few...More
We went up the ropeway on a cloudy day. The people in charge must have known there was zero visibility at the top, yet they kept cramming us in the cable car. I thought we were back in Tokyo on the rush hour subway. On...More
Is this the most exciting thing I have ever done--no. Is it fun-yes. The best part is when come over the Owaku-dani valley with is steaming vents and sulfurous air. By all means, get off here and stroll around. Visit the museum and eat a...More
We went there as part of the day tour organised by Sunrise tours, engaged by Cox and Kings, New Delhi. Our tour was supposed to end at 4:30pm, but we were still in queue by 4:45. And this was a weekday, not weekend. Cable cars...More
The ropeway isn't the most ideal as everybody is cramped into the ropeway like sardines but the views from the top of the mountain are unbelievable. To get the perfect view of Mount Fuji you'll have to walk round behind the station to the other...More
This ropeway or gondola takes passengers to the Komagatake peak of Mount Hakone. The access to the ropeway can be via ferry, which is a lovely ride on Lake Ashinoke in a comfortable ferry with open seating on the top level and views of the...More
We went on a semi cloudy day. By the time we got up to the top it was in the clouds. Still a unique experience. The car is crammed with people though. It was very cold up top and my breath made ice droplets on...More

I don't know if there are two. I suspect this is the only one. It is perfect for a great view of Fuji, assuming that there is no cloud cover. We were on a tour. The gift shop at the Hakone ferry origin is a good shop with good selection and prices, better than at the Ropeway base.
I hope this helps! Enjoy
We used the public transit and walked from the bus stop. I think I remember seeing parking at the base, but I don't know about the top. (Isn't the point to ride up to the top to see the view from there? If it were easy to... More
We used the public transit and walked from the bus stop. I think I remember seeing parking at the base, but I don't know about the top. (Isn't the point to ride up to the top to see the view from there? If it were easy to get to the top by car, I am not sure that there would need to be a ropeway,) They might have added parking for the shops at the top after it was built and became popular. Sorry, I just don't remember, so I'm not much help on this one.
