This is a historic shrine, the third shrine in Hitachi Province. We went to see it because there is a giant zelkova tree. The zelkova tree is located halfway up the stone steps of the approach to the shrine, and is wrapped in a sacred rope as a sacred tree. It is 300 years old, has a trunk circumference of 6 meters, and is 13 meters tall. The trunk is thick and low, but it has many branches and grows quite tall. It covers the stone steps, so it's best to see it in the autumn foliage season. Speaking of trees, we recommend the weeping cherry tree in the shrine grounds.

宮司さん達もとても感じが良く、御神籤で凶を引くと、特別な御朱印が頂けるという素敵なサービスもあります。

水戸駅からバスにて訪問。少々、アクセシビリティに難がありますが、通りに面した鳥居は、周辺の桜が満開で、とても印象的。一歩、一歩、足を踏みしめつつ、階段を登って参拝させていただきました。

御祭神は日本武尊（ヤマトタケルノミコト）で、豪胆で武勇に優れた行動的な性格、その上愛情に富み、その世界に生きようとする浪漫的性格をも併せ持つ英雄との事。車で行きましたが駐車場少し迷ってしまいました。第一の鳥居を見逃してしまい裏から入る事に。境内には枝垂れ桜の木があり春はとても綺麗かもしれませんね。また、縁結びスポットもありました。境内にある「縁結び笹」。拝殿前にあるこの笹の葉を結ぶと良縁に恵まれると昔から言い伝えられています。ただし利き手ではない方の片手で結べたら、との事でした。全体的にとても落ち着いた雰囲気で良い神社でした。

ヤマトタケルを祀った常陸国三ノ宮の神社。小高い三角山と言われる丘の上にあり見晴らしも良いです。幣殿、神楽殿等建物は見応えありゆっくりお参りできました。

常陸三ノ宮の吉田神社は猿田彦命が主神。吉田の台地にあり初詣には大層混雑しますが普段はそれほどでもありません。

吉田神社は、JR水戸駅から徒歩25分くらいのところにある常陸国の三宮です。11月に水戸に行った時に参拝しました。大きな鳥居、看板があります。参道の階段の横には、水戸市の保存樹となっている大きなケヤキの木がありました。この神社は、日本武尊を御祭神とする寺院で創建は485～498年頃であるといわれています。歴史ある神社です。随神門、幣殿、本殿などがあります。拝殿の前には、きれいな菊が飾れてていました。又、菅原道真を祀る吉田天満宮もありました。

梅まつり中の偕楽園を訪れる前に参拝しました。
３月の９時頃でしたので人もおらず、ゆっくり参拝出来ました。
拝殿の手前にご祭神の日本武尊のご神徳がこもった願掛石が。一つ手に取り拝殿に参拝。
また違った季節に訪れたいと思います。

初詣で伺いました。車で行きましたが警備の方が何名かいらして誘導してくれてスムーズに駐車することができました。
初詣なので混んでるところが多いかと思いますが、こちらの神社は比較的すぐに参拝できるので穴場かと思います。
