Back home, eating King crab is too costly. Chanced upon this outlet who offered a discount as there first customer... Happy! Great choice to have the crab boiled instead of BBQ.

It was a narrow fish market with lots of tiny restaurant inside. The people were friendly. It is only a few walks away from otaru train station. It really is a must-visit place if you go to Otaru.

Oct 13 I love food markets, especially those featuring fresh seafood. Of all the places on earth, this one has perhaps the shortest distance from pier to market with the widest spectrum of seafood. I knew about uni, the gonad of the sea urchin. Here...More

This place is a quiet little seafood market tucked in a corner next to Otaru Station. It's a small market with not many tourists but quite a lot of locals. There are around 5-6 restaurants there all selling fresh sashimi rice. Prices are similar among...More

It’s in the Central of Otaru. But u can get a good bowl of seafood on rice in Sankaku fish market. Look for Takeda.

Reasonably priced fresh seafood here. It’s very close to Otaru station. The entrance is small. You can have your seafood meal here.

Had the freshest seafood here, especially Uni and King Crabs straight from the tanks. You can chose your crabs, do a bit of bargaining, and it will be cooked and served in one of the restaurants there. Sellers are all very friendly people.

The market is smaller compared to the Sapporo one, but it has a good range of restaurants for you to satisfy your sashimi crave. Really fresh seafood with decent price. You can always ask for a discount when purchasing the seafood.

Prices lower in comparison, however if its non season items may be same. I think its best you check around all the stalls for any specific items you wish to try.
