Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This four-story warehouse building stands at the foot of Ryugu Bridge, where Ryugu Street, which runs straight from Ryugu Shrine near Otaru Station to the sea, intersects with the canal, and is a designated urban landscape building of the city. It is distinctive with its reddish doors, stairs, and slide-like spiral chute, and perhaps due to its unique sense of ruins, it has often been used as a filming location.
After looking around for a while, I turned around and was relieved to see that the former landlord warehouse was unchanged. However, my surprise was fleeting, as I was surprised to see a Komeda Coffee store had opened in the area that used to be a parking lot. The contrast between the rarely seen decaying beauty and the familiar shop made me feel the passage of time.

We started to walk north on the sidewalk by the canal. The canal completed in 1923 originally ran 1,300 meters with a width of 40 meters. After a long debate on preservation, some of the southern part was filled and the remaining canal narrowed to 20 meters width. The recommendation I had received was to start the tour from the northern part of the canal (kita unga) which retains the original features. The first to catch my attention was a building on the other side. This is a reinforced concrete warehouse building of a cannery company built in 1924. I was interested to see the elevators and spiral chutes used to load the goods on the barges.
