Chomonkyo Gorge was formed after stopping old-Tsuwano-river (from Kidoyama to Matsuda city) at Tsuwano-town (by Mt. Aonoyama volcano) , then it flows back to present Chomonkyo to run cross by Gorge as Abu-river to Hagi city now.
