Just outside Matsue, is Yuushien Garden. I drove here, there is a large parking lot across the street. You enter an interesting building with a shop, café, and ginseng displays. There is a fee to enter the gardens, which is cheap. Once you enter the gardens, you are free to roam. Right away I saw the pond decorated with beautiful flowers, it was lovely. It appears the display is seasonal so it will always change. There is a path way to follow within the grounds, I found it to be a little confusing in spots as a lot of places were blocked off. But I enjoyed the variety of plants here and the pretty waterways. There appears to be an impressive night show here as there were lights and displays all over the place. The park is not huge and can be done in an hour or so, but I feel it is well worth a visit.

It is not my first time to visit this garden but the place always offer something new to see. From illumination to art installation, it is worth the visit. Although it is winter, peonnies are still plenty. The cafe inside is a relaxing place to staywhile watching the refreshing garden scenery
