I do feel the Nihondaira Ropeway was expensive considering the distance travelled and the view. If you do want to visit Kunozan Toshogu Shrine then it'll be worth it if you don't want to climb all the way up. However, don't expect any Mt Fuji...More

It was a bit cloudy so we could not see the top of Mt Fuji but we admired the view of the trees below and tried ti imaging=e how the priests and priestesses could walk to and from the shrine every day. On the way...More

Everything about this ropeway and Nihondaira was super misleading in my opinion. First of all, one thing that I didn't realize is that this ropeway only takes you to the shrine and that's it. If you hike up towards Nihondaira from the port area, then...More

This is the only way to go visit the Toshogu Shrine. The views from the cable car are pretty impressive, you can see the shoreline & bay. The Nihondaira Park that is right by the Ropeway is a terrific spot to see Mt. Fuji except...More

We took the ropeway route to the shrine - well worth it for the amazing views across the bay. If weather cooperates you will see Mt. Fuji. We could just make it out above the clouds

We have been to Japan a number of times but we have never seen Mt Fuji! It's been either clear at the top but no bottom or vice versa. This time we were on a cruise and as the ship was approaching Shimizu Port we...More

The cable car is the only way to reach the shrin quickly and without much physical effort. Car holds about 30 people. Neither span, length, or height of the cable car trajectory is remarkable.

The way to do it, is to climb the stairs from the "strawberry road" along the ocean. Then once you reached to the top and check out the shrine, then take the ropeway . Have someone to pick you up there by car, unless you...More

The ropeway leads to the beautiful kunozan shrine which is worth the visit. You travel on the cable car over the valley. There is also an observatory at the ropeway station where you can see Fuji on a clear day. Mothers is a souvenir shop...More

I did an arranged bus tour from the ship which is the best way to go. A taxi would probably be very expensive. I don't recall seeing many taxis at the cable car station so a taxi would need to wait for you and the trip on... More
