A little overrated but this is a pleasant walk with a number of shops to look at. The Castle should be the first item to visit and the castle museum.

With plenty of cafes, nicely done souvenir shops and everything else besides, Nakamachi is worth wandering through on your way to the castle or town centre. Some beautiful places to eat or drink coffee are found on this little street as well as craft shops, traditional Japanese stores and - of course - the architecture and tradition of the houses... This is worth a good 1-2 hours for shopping and food. Its a bit touristy, but if you're on TripAdvisor, you're likely a tourist anyway!

Not much to see. Shops not that interesting. Convenient as it is next to the other attractions. Spend 10 mins walking this street

Much more beautiful than the tourist ridden Frog street. Interesting antique shops and clothes boutiques. Also fab pancake cafe!

After touring the castle, this is a lovely area for window-shopping, with nice cafes and shops. There is even new brewery, the Matsumoto Brewery, where you can relax with a pint.
