Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great idea for a loop bus and this serves all the tourist spots very well, however the day we used it the service was very poor. Waited over 30 minutes for a loop bus and then ended up walking one time. The plus side is that you can use all the local buses with the pass and used this -only managed to catch the loop bus once in the day.

Kanazawa Loop Bus is good for non JR Pass holders but you have to pay. If you hold a JR Pass use it with the JR Bus just outside the Train Station where all the bus comes to. I think it was station 4 and 5 now. This will save you money and it does almost the same route as the Kanazawa loop bus, it goes pass and stop at every bus stop with a JR sign on the side and in all the attraction like the Kanazawa Castle, old town etc etc, there are blue JR bus route and red JR bus route so have a look at their time table on the wall of the station number or at every bus stop with a JR sign there.

Seen a lot of people buying the one day Kanazawa loop bus pass without realising that the JR also runs a local bus in the area around the loop area and you can use your JR Pass to get a free ride.

if like me you have already purchased a jr rail pass, you can technically get around free using the jr buses that run a mostly similar route to the kanazawa loop bus. in my personal experience however, the jr buses run far less frequently to the k.l.b. and unlike their trains which runs ever so punctually, the jr buses in kanazawa are not.
which is why i hope this post helps those of you with limited time in kanazawa consider paying that little extra and make the most of your time in this charming city rather than waste it waiting for the bus.

If you have a JR rail pass you can use it on the JR buses (except the blue ones). The JR buses go to most of the same places as the loop bus.

Exploring popular attractions in Kanazawa City is easy when you buy One Day bus pass from Hokutetsu Bus Ticket Counter located outside of the Kanazawa JR Station East Gate Exit or at the Tourist's Information Counter (closed at 5p) inside the JR Station by East Gate exit. This Hokutetsu Co.’s One Day Bus Pass allows you unlimited rides with just 500 yens. When you take the first ride of the day, you need to get on the back entry (rule of riding for all city’s buses is to get on the back and get off the front) and validate your pass before you get off by inserting it to a stamping slot next to the driver. After the initial validating you won’t need to insert it for the following rides, just show validated pass to the driver when you get off. There are three color coded tourist bus lines serving the major attractions. Two are Kanazawa’s Loop Bus lines- start at bus terminal stop numbered 7. The Right Loop bus runs clockwise-displays on the front of bus as RL and bus in orange color. Left Loop bus runs counter clockwise-displays on the front of bus as LL and bus in green color. Each runs every 15 minutes. The third tourist bus is Kenrokuen Shuttle displays on the front of bus as S and bus in maroon color. All three tourist lines start from Kanazawa JR station Hokutetsu bus terminal and run between 8:30a till 6:05p, The One DAY PASS can be used for these buses and will take you to the City’s major attractions such as Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park (Stop near Castle's Ishikawamon Gate and Kenrokuen's Katsurazaka entrance at LL9, RL7, or S8), Higashi Chaya District (Stop at RL4 and LL10), 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art (Stop at RL8, LL8 and S9), Naga-machi Buke Yashiki District(Stop at RL 13, LL 3, S3 and S10) , and Omi-cho Market(Stop at LL1, RL15, S1 and S12), a covered market specialized in varieties of fresh catch from the sea. One Day Pass fare of 500 yens and unlimited hop on and hop off give tourists the most convenient and affordable way to tour the City. But keep in mind these are two loop buses and each loop goes on the opposit direction; RL goes clockwise and LL goes counter clockwise with each loop starts as LL0 and RL0 from JR Kanazawa Station/Hokutetsu Bus Terminal Stop #7 . So be sure to study your visiting routes; plan ahead where you want to go to visit first and then choose the direction of the loop rides accordingly to avoid unnecessary time spending on the bus. The One Day Pass pamphlet details map of the bus routes, stops and schedules. These buses do not run in the evening and night. So be sure to check the last run of the stop where you wish to get on.

A great bus loop service that stops by most major tourist sites. Would highly recommend using this mode to get your bearings and then visit the sites you want to see. Shld plan to see 3 or more sites for it to be worth the price of the ticket which is ¥500. Took both loops for 2 days as it is impossible to see everything in 1 day.

We went to many of the attractions Kanazawa had to offer. The loop bus goes to all of them. It is by far the best way to see all of the attractions or to go from one to another. I think we only paid 100 yen a trip. They take Suika and many other cards for payment. Very good service and we were able to get a seat each time on the bus.

With the cost of a day pass equal to 2.5 single tickets just need to buy a pass. Most of the most visited tourist sites are accessible by one of the 3 routs.

Convenient transport for tourists to easily & quickly transit to key attractions. There are two loop buses Right Loop and Left Loop around the city. If I remember correctly these stop running at 6pm, do check & bare that in mind when you plan your itinerary & need to get back to your accommodation.

Consider the day pass if you are going to 3 or more places. The frequency is good and it saves you time from walking between places of interest.
