Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the metal and acrylic panel that connects the east exit of Kanazawa Station between Tsuzumimon Gate and the station. It's a high-ceilinged dome.
It's convenient when it rains, but it gets very hot in the summer because it seems to trap heat inside.

The Motemnashi Dome outside Kanazawa JR Station is a masterpiece in architectural design. All passengers, local or overseas, will pass under the dome and be sheltered under the rain or snow. Really impressive.

As with the other ‘attractions’ listed here as being the main few to see, it perhaps says a lot about Kanazawa that this dome above a bus station features so highly on the list. I was around the city for work and was surprised to see quite a few westerner tourists here; I guess you must come to Japan a lot to have Kanazawa feature on your list of places to go!? Anyway, this is a nice feature above the station, that gives it shelter but in an open way with lots of air and light. Certainly better than the concrete heavy stations where I live – but hardly an attraction in and of itself.

We did not notice this area until it was time to leave as we came back to the train station at the end of our visit to Kanazawa. The fountain, the digital clock, and the giant gate all very attractive. Make sure to stop here for pictures.

Japan has some pretty great architecture and this is one of them. Just outside Kanazawa station, it protects you from rain, snow and sun. Wonderful structure and complements the torii gate outside.

The dome is a great covering for rain or snow for all the people coming to or leaving the train station. It is a fascinating architectural wonder and not expected as you approach it. Everyone had to stop and take photos. Not an attraction in itself, but certainly worth a look if nearby.

The Dome is the wonderful entrance to the Kanazawa Railway Station and gives an impression of power and prestige particularly after passing through the gate, very impressive.

Creating light, airy and feeling of big spaces, this lofty ceiling allows free flow of air and quite a wonder.
