There are temples every few steps and if this is your thing, you got to come here. Don’t miss the ninja temple.

Arrived after closing of Ninja temple unfortunately. Main thoroughfare has many temples that can be viewed from outside. A small traditional Japanese district as well.

It was awesome seeing the Samurai district. There are many Samurai houses and museums in this neighborhood. Not too many Samurai districts left in Japan, so check this one out if you can.

There are many temples in this area but we thought that Higashi Chayagai was a more charming area overall.

A great way to get your fix of temples! As you walk up the street there are temples on each side. Interesting photographs as each temple has its own flavor.

We came across this district quite by luck while we were out exploring. It's filled with all sorts of interesting shops with many places to eat and enjoy the atmosphere. The adjacent street are filled with interesting buildings and an occasional shrine. Worthwhile seeking out.
