Nice local market

Many local shop and restaurants with fresh seafood. My favorite is the shop near the market entrance with the giant eel only 3,000 yen.

I could spend all day here eating delicious food and admiring how beautiful everything was. Truly a treat and a peak into Japanese culture. DO NOT MISS.

A nice walk around the food stalls and all the sea food. Nothing spectacular but worth a visit on your way to other things in Kanazawa.

An interesting fresh food market in the heart of Kanazawa. Some stall sell seafood that you can eat right there, like a $10 oyster the size of a toddler's palm!

To me, visiting the covered Japanese markets/shopping alleys one of the highlights of a trip to any Japanese city. The best are the ones in Osaka imo but Omicho is also a great experience. Love the kaleidoscope food stalls with their neatly presented offerings. There are also a number small sushi places which had queues so presumably pretty good though... More

Enjoyed touring this vibrant market. Focus definitely on seafood in all its variety. Also had a good lunch at small restaurant there.

A local market that sells lots of seafood. I went there to have seafood, bought a very nice crab, and i ate it immediately. However, this market is different from those markets which you can cook the seafood near-by. No cooking service, i don't recommend to buy food that is not ready to eat.

Fantastic experience in Omicho market. Particularly fish and seafood are a must: best quality at very reasonable prices. Try the oysters place, they are extraordinary. There are also fruits and vegetables but the best part regards sea products. We also have lunch in one of the restaurants inside the market, which was very good and at an excellent price.

Kanazawa is famous for fresh fish, so it was interesting to walk around looking at local fish. If you fancy a meal with fresh fish at a casual diner, you will find one here.

As our stay in Kanazawa was brief, we could not indulge in purchases of the magnificent seafoods on offer here. We did sample takeaways though. Best variety and quality we have seen. Unlike seafood markets elsewhere - no objectionable odours at all. Excellent couple of hours spent just looking at the fresh produce.
