As a couple of English-speaking Americans, we didn't get a lot out of our visit to this historic site. It is an impressive complex of buildings, but difficult to comprehend. There is a nice garden area.
I expected to have no signs in English and a few items on display but I was plenty surprised. First a lot of items had English translation and signs for some artifacts in English as well.

Very well preserved and well maintained. Definitely worth a visit as you get to see how a really old municipal government building actually looks like and with a bit of imagination, you can imagine how it was run during the Edo era.
