We truly enjoyed our cycling tour. With stops along the way we learned so much about the area and could sample local specialities. The scenery is breathtaking and the guides fantastic. This tour is for all ages and adds a memorable experience to your trip. We highly recommend Satoyama Experience.

Hisa led us on a fun relaxed tour of Takayama learning about the different foods and local crafts. Knowledgeable, pleasant, and enthusiastic he gave us a great introduction to the area. Thankyou

We could feel and experience the life in Hidafurukawa through their program. The guide, Akiko, showed some spots by introducing local life there. Without her we could not feel such local life and story there. We missed Satoyama Cycling because they close it during the winter, so we will visit again to ride a bike next time!

What a fantastic time! Our wonderful guide met us at the Shinhotaka Ropeway station and we made our way up the ropeway to get ready for our snow shoe tour. The tour itself runs for about 2 hours and proceeds through the woods and is a wonderful, unique experience and certainly not one two guys from Australia get to experience... More

I really wanted to do bike tour, but I could not do that because of snow season. BUT their other tour snowshoeing at Local village was fantastic!! There are three points I love! 1. Snowshoeing itself is fun!! 2. With friendly and informative guide!! (Our guide was Miyuki-san!!) 3. Learn about Japanese local culture and around.(Even for Japanese, it's really... More

We have a wonderful Snowshoeing experience during our visit on 8/1/2017 guided by two wonderful guides, HIsa and Hiro. Strongly recommended to try out, especially for those from tropical climate countries who like to have a close encounter with the snow.

We started the day in Takayama with a moring tour, guided by Masayo, and we were lucky to see a Farmer’s Market (held only once a year). We also got to look around the inside of Sake brewery, with some lovely tastings included :) And learnt so much about the process of making Sake, and the different types etc..Great fun... More

This was such an awesome experience. We had such great fun with our guides Hisa-San and Akiko-San. Time just flew by. The weather was great, we worked up an appetite and if you wanted to take in the beauty and scenery of the Japanese Alps come do this before going up Ropeway 2. Best of all you don't have to... My husband and I spent a wonderful morning riding in the Hida valley with our fantastic guide Tetsu. I am not a very experienced rider and I was worried about this but I need not have been. Tetsu tailored the ride to suit my skills. Tetsu was very knowledgeable about the culture of the area, farming and carpentry techniques and... More

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this experience of sake tasting and cooking Japanese tapas. Miyuki was very knowledgable when it came to sake and we learnt a lot about how it's made and the different types of sake. Midori was also a lovely teacher when it came to cooking the Japanese tapas and taught us about the different ingredients... More
