The street looks impressive at the entrance. It looked like it had been there for years. But upon doing some research I realise it was created in 2018 to provide a place for visitors to the Nagoya Castle for food. So we headed there after our visit to the castle. Unfortunately there are about 12 restaurants with various types of food but every one of them was more expensive than its worth. We ended up going to the Torikai restaurant. We found the food ordinary. Nothing to write home about. Give it a miss if you are not desperately hungry

There are two Kinshachi Yokocho areas at the entrances to Nagoya Castle. As you head towards the castle from Nagoya Castle Station on the subway, there is the Kinshachi Yokocho East Gate Area, and near the main entrance there is the Kinshachi Yokocho Main Area.
Both are filled with restaurants where you can try Nagoya specialties, but the main area had more restaurants where you could enjoy full-fledged dishes such as hitsumabushi, misonikomi udon, misokatsu, and Nagoya Cochin oyakodon.
