About
Da Nang Free Walking Tour is led by local university students in Da Nang. The Free Walking Tour is based on the Free Walking Tour model that is popular in many cities around the world. If you are happy with our tour, pay what you think is fair for your experience. If not, the tour is completely on us. In this one and half hour tour, visitors will see the real Da Nang from a local's perspective and have the opportunity to immerse in local culture and ask any questions you have about our city. We guarantee you will see Da Nang from a different angle than what is on the Internet and from organized tours.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had a great time on the free walking tour. Jacks tour was very informative and he was great to talk to. I loved spending time with him and learning about Da Nang from someone who really loves the city!
Thanks again 😆

A good couple of hours learning something about Da Nang and the few sights the city has.
We had two lovely students who showed us around (5 stops - no spoilers!).
It was interesting to listen to them explain about life in Vietnam and, as others have said, learn a little from you too
We had absolutely no problem with our guides. Their English was amazing given they are self-taught. But if you expect a perfect conversation - look elsewhere. This isn’t how these tours work! Give a little back to this wonderful country and it’s (young) people.

My husband and I both really enjoyed this tour! We did the morning sightseeing tour, which was an excellent way to explore the town. Multiple guides accompanied us, and all were very informative, we enjoyed chatting with them about the town and about life in Vietnam. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you don't have a lot of time in Da Nang and want to get a nice overview of the city.

I was waiting for the English speaking guide for 30 min, but he didn't arrive. They ask for e-mail or contact number during registration for the tour. What for if it's not used? Waste of time.

We (German, 27&26) have been attending free walking tours all over the world and were therefore pleased to find such a tour offered in Da Nang.
Quick notice on our expectations for such a tour:
- local person
-decent and understandable English
- fun and some historical facts about the city
- hints and recommendations on local stores, food and other useful tips concerning shopping, other sights, transport system etc.
What we got was nothing compared to our previous experiences. We were a group of 6 tourists and had 8 (!!!) guides with us. Their English level was -at least for some of the guides- so poor that we couldn’t understand anything they said and vice versa. We didn’t get much information about the sights which was due to the fact that we were constantly approached and talked to from the other guides even while one was explaining the sight. When there was information it was barely understandable. We felt more like personal English tutors then tourist trying to learn something about the city. They also extended the tour for over an hour which was hard with the rising temperature around noontime.
Overall we weren’t happy about the tour. We wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. Maybe we got unlucky with our guides or our expectations were too high but we did not enjoy ourselves. One thing which annoyed us personally was them constantly taking pictures of us and filming without asking. Maybe this is a personal thing but it made us feel watched the whole time.

Arrived in Da Nang a few hours earlier than planned, so booked last minute on to a 9am walking tour with Trang. I ended up being the only one, and it was absolutely brilliant. Trang is so kind and we chatted about Vietnamese and English culture and shared stories as we walked around. She gave me tonnes of reccomendations of things to do and see whilst I'm here. I only have a day in Da Nang and this tour was the perfect way to kick it off. Thanks so much Trang!!

They show you a couple of good places in Da Nang and help you out with any questions you have. They speak English quite well and give you an insight to Vietnamese culture.

I really enjoyed the Foody Story tour offered by Da Nang Free Walking Tour. My guide, “Jack” or Duc Tan, was fantastic. He shared some great stories about the area, selected a nice variety of food stops, and was just a great guy! The best part of this tour was just talking with him and comparing life in Viet Nam to life in the USA. The company was very flexible in arranging the tour for me, even though I was the only guest that day (off season). I completely recommend this tour!

Hi, don126. What would you like to know about this attraction?
Hello. I will be coming to Da Nang on 25-29 March. I love to walk and this tour has excellent reviews. How do I reserve a time and date? Thank you.

When you arrive in Da Nang, ask your hotel to give them a call the day before to book. You'll meet your guide at the Tourist Office on the West side of the river. If you've never seen one, you might also want to check out the new 3D museum on the other side of the river.
