- Boxy64Melbourne, Australia407 contributionsGreat Place - Careful ThoughAn Bang beach is devine, but be careful which part. The best part is the strip in North West on Nguyen Phan Vinh road. There are plenty of restaurants, spas, some bars and a couple of gift shops, a tailor, atm’s, small convenience shops and of course a lovely long beach. Some of the best restaurants are between the road and the sea. As you travel South East - beware of two huge restaurants- Kim Cuc and Chien - rated worst in Hoi An. They also have a bad reputation with their beach chairs. At that spot though are lots of bars and other restaurant choices. Not sure about the section further down the South East through Lac Long Quan, but once you get to Hidden Beach, go no further. Cua Dai beach not as good and few restaurant options.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 October 2023
- ADifferentKindofNerdSan Diego, California12 contributionsNice Clean BeachNice clean beach. we picked one of the seafood restaurants on the beach to have lunch. With lunch, came use of their beach umbrellas, chairs and shower. Beach is clean, water is warm, waves are very small. There was a steady stream of vendors selling all sorts of things like many tourist spots. Nice relaxing couple hours spent here after lunchVisited November 2022Travelled with familyWritten 7 October 2023
- Jenny L30 contributionsNot what I expected.Sad to see the beach filled styrofoam and plastic waste while doing my morning walk from The Deck House to Four Seasons hotel. The Four Seasons Hotel has the cleanest beach. Glad that I didn't pay too much to stay in this area. Two nights is good enough.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 December 2023

- Russel GorczanyMulhouse, France3 contributionsSur mesure et pratique à Hoi AnMy partner and I loved the vibe at An Bang Beach. It's the perfect mix of chill relaxation and lively energy. The beach itself is beautiful – perfect for swimming and sunbathing. We spent our days hopping between the awesome beach bars, munching on fresh seafood, and sipping cocktails with our toes in the sand. If you're looking for a beach destination with delicious food and a fun atmosphere, An Bang Beach is the spot!Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 March 2024
- ModouLondon, United Kingdom3 contributionsParadise found near Hoi AnThink soft white sand, water so clear you can see your toes, and just enough gentle waves for a perfect dip. We spent whole days swimming, sunning ourselves on lounge chairs, and sipping cocktails at the cool beachfront cafes. The vibe is relaxed, not too crowded, and way more local than some of the other beaches. Vendors strolled by with delicious snacks, but weren't pushy at all. Sunsets here? Unbelievable. We even rented paddleboards one day, which was hilarious (and a great workout!). Honestly, if you want that perfect blend of pristine beach and chilled-out atmosphere, An Bang is a must-visit.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 March 2024
- Adel SLondon, United Kingdom1 contributionHoi An's Coastal OasisAn Bang Beach provides a welcome escape from the bustle of Hoi An's Ancient Town. The wide, sandy beach and gentle waves create an instantly relaxing atmosphere. We loved feeling the soothing ocean breeze as we strolled along the shore, admiring the traditional fishing boats dotting the horizon. The beachfront restaurants were a highlight, offering delicious seafood dishes and refreshing drinks with ocean views. Locals and tourists alike mingle at these casual establishments, contributing to An Bang's vibrant beach culture. The friendly vendors and warm smiles from the locals added to the welcoming ambiance. Whether seeking a quiet spot to sunbathe, a place to savor fresh seafood, or just to immerse yourself in the coastal life of Hoi An, An Bang Beach offers a delightful and authentic experience.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 April 2024
- julsngraham24 contributionsAn Bang BeachLovely beach. We entered through the Soul Kitchen to the left as you come through the public entrance. You can get a bed for the day if you have drinks or lunch. Lovely people. We also hired boogie boards from a wee place to the right of soul kitchen (not on the beach) 150,000 for two hours very cheap. The sellers do approach but leave if you don’t engage. The second day we were there they never approached us at all. As we had been asked already. There are plenty of taxis outside the beach to get back to your accommodation.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 April 2024

The water is not transparent in color but it is clean. When we were there in March the sea was rough and the water temperature was not the best. Our hotel shuttle dropped us about 10am and the beach stayed pretty empty until late lunchtime (early February). After that, there were more people, but the beach never felt too crowded, even in the area around the many hotel’s "beach partners". Various comments have said the beach is dirty and spoiled by too many building sites - we didn’t feel that. The sand and water were clean, and the there were some building sites, but not many and they were far back from the beach. I wouldn’t travel a huge distance just for this beach (Da Nang beach is probably nicer) but if you are staying in Hoi An and like the idea of a beach day, this is worth a visit.

When coming straight from Hoi An, you arrive to covered parking lot of bikes. This is run by super rude person who will want to over charge you and scream at you. Do not give money to this person. There are bars around where you can park, get a drink with no drama. Just turn a bit to the right and there is small street leading to some bars or to the left or just in front of this parking lot scam idiot.

We had an afternoon here whilst staying in Hoi An. Great fine sand, with a strong onshore breeze blowing creating a decent swell ( wouldn’t recommend for young families unless closely supervised at all times). Beach front filled with many places to eat ( though at time of writing some were shut down due to C19). Street vendors offered delicious snacks too. Sun loungers under parasol cost 200k Dong for 2 for the day. Great place to sit in the sun and swim, beware the breeze versus sunburn though! Have fun

Having visited in 2019, w noticed 2020 was busier. Beach loungers are rented by separate businesses. Read the name on your lounger and if you like the service, be sure to show your loyalty and return next time you come to the beach. For a nominal sum you get 2 loungers and an umbrella and constant (and very good value) food and drinks service all day. Can highly recommend The 3Ladies Kitchen, run by Thu who will treat you like an honoured guest!

This beach is nice but coming from Australia we are spoilt with beautiful beaches everywhere so An Bang pales in comparison. The whole stretch of beach is covered in beach beds and bars and restaurants so while the view is nice it has an over populated feeling.
The beach has "no swimming" signs everywhere which is a good thing because it looks very rough and dangerous.
If you are riding in on the main road (bicycle or motorbike) vendors try to stop you to say; free parking if you buy a drink. We didn't know what it was all about so when we rode to the end there was a parking lot with some sort of security guy stopping everyone from taking bikes closer to the beach. We parked the 4 bicycles for 40,000 VND, which is very little, but just a note to be prepared.
Eating and drinking in any of the beach front restaurants is a bit pricier but totally worth it for the atmostphere, view and people watching.
Overall, nice if you don't mind the crowds and cluttered feel.

This beach was within walking distance of our home stay. For only $1.50 you can get a lounge chair and umbrella (or buy an iced coffee for $1.50 and get them for free!). It's very clean and my children found it a great place to build sand castles. Not too crowded, at least not when we were there in late December. The surf can get pretty rough when the tide is in, so be aware of the time of day you go. Lots of fun activities available, such as para-sailing.

This beach was a little too chaotic for our liking. There were a lot of vendors walking around the beach selling trinkets, and many restaurant owners trying to get you to sit in their lounge chairs and eat at their restaurant. When we go to the beach, we prefer to relax, unwind and read a little. We eventually chose a restaurant and enjoyed the lounge chairs for a little bit, but the whole beach experience was more chaotic than I was hoping for. We preferred some of the quieter beaches down the street.

Plenty of beach umbrellas and cafes along the beach. Quite peaceful even though you do get the hawkers approaching you to buy their souvenirs and sun glasses etc.
A lot of development and construction going on so sadly in a few years time the primitive charm will be lost and with modernisation will come the crowds.

The first thing you see when you get to this beach are permanent signs saying “no swimming”. This is a little extreme, as there were children (supervised) playing in the waves. The water was very rough though. Rows and rows of padded lounge chairs, restaurant hawkers letting you lay on them for free if you promised to buy either a drink or food from them. A single beer (I suppose, never could have just one) was enough to use it the whole day. Lots of activities, para-sailing, jet skiing going on.
Overall an ok place to lay in the sun, but very limited ability to go in the water.

An Bang Beach may be touristy and crowded, it is still a pretty beach to rest and relax. If you prefer quiet time here, I recommend you to go to Be Cu Beach Restaurant located two streets away. Food and drinks price here is cheaper and you have the most inspiring views from the beach here.

It depends how much you want to spend. Bees cottages are 50 meters from the beach no pool but really affordable around $250 a night then you have Chi villa which is around $660 a night has a pool and you don’t lift a finger it’s pure luxury. It’s a bit further away from the beach. I love staying in An Bang and I’ve loved both these villas.

Hi,
I am looking at going to An Bang beach for a family holiday with my 20 month daughter. We are from Sydney and after reading the reviews about the beach being dirty and small are concerned that the beach will not be very nice.
Was the beach very daughter and would it suit her being able to play on the sand and in the water there?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Written 25 March 2019
An Bang beach is clean and fairly safe they did get some erosion damage from the last typhoon season but the beach is back to normal now, many safe places to swim and some calm spots can be found depending on the wind and swell, the food is also very good and reasonably cheap compared to Oz prices
