I have no idea what this museum is about. I just stopped here as one of the only public restrooms in the old town. It looked nice though. It's also a nice place to cool down by the fans

We had missed the ticket booth but were allowed to go through the museum and pay for the five site access ticket after. It was still early so there were no tour bus size groups of people and the temperature was naturally cool inside. The...More

Why would you go to Hoi An and not duck in here for a look at some of the ancient culture. Not a place to stay all day - but well worth an hour out of your day.

Part of the bargain 120,000 dong ticket to visit the old town of Hoi An, we enjoyed the visit to the museum of Folklore. You get five 'free' places to visit with the ticket, and there are a wide variety to chose from. The museum...More

A real treasure trove of the history of Hoi An. So many wonderful exhibits that give a little insight into what made Hoi An the place it is today. My favourite exhibit was the palm leaf raincoat, ingenious and so simple (Bear Grylls) The explanations,...More

This is worth visiting for the beautiful wooden house alone. It stretches across an entire block. You need a ticket to enter. They demonstrate folk dances and traditions and the old working practices, silk, farming, fishing. Well worth spending an hour here.

Apart from its museum exhibits, the Hoi An Museum of Folk Culture, is notable in itself as it is the largest wooden two-storey house in this ancient town. It fronts the two parallel streets of Nguyen Thai Hoc and Bach Dang. Exhibits are arranged into...More

We popped in to this little spot to see what it had to offer. Probably the most interesting aspect for us was the ingenuity shown by the native Cham people in the area of fishing/cooking etc. Making a rice grinder out of a tree trunk,...More
