About
See the real Vietnam with Hoi An Motorbike Adventures! Get off the beaten tourist track and experience the real Vietnam first hand. Our motorcycle and Jeep tours enable you to leave the tourist trail behind and see parts of Vietnam that few other travellers get to see. Riding a motorbike or travelling in a Jeep brings you closer to the real Vietnam. The motorbike is the number-one form of transport in Vietnam, and as you high-five local children as you ride through their villages, you'll be happy you decided not to travel by car. Stop where you want, when you want. You don't have to be a motocross champion either. Our tours can be tailored to every level of experience, from non-riders who can ride as pillion passengers to off-road riders who are looking for a real challenge. Motorcycle tours are flexible by nature - you can take one road or another, depending on what the group wants to ride. Our rides run from half a day to a week, and the possibilities are endless.

We did the Hoi An adventures motorbike food tour for 4 hours with Thomas, Henry, Ninh and Vy. What a great night. Four young fabulous adults who showed us great local food with great motorbike driving skills. Would highly recommend this tour. 😄

My husband and I are in our early 60's, and wanted to travel along the Hai Van Pass by motor cycle but didn't fancy doing it on our own, as we are not "bikers"! Having read the excellent reviews of this company, we decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed. We were picked up from our homestay in Hoi An. Our guide Bat, was there 30 minutes early. Our cases were strapped safely to the bikes, and off we went. We each had our own driver, and we travelled pillion. I was apprehensive about being on the back of a bike, having seen the horrendous traffic, and the standard of driving of some motorcyclists. We needn't have worried. We both felt safe from the moment we left until when we arrived in Hue 8 hours later. It was a long day, but there were several stops where we could hop off the bike and stretch. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and his english was good. We stopped at a Cham temple, paddy field, Hai Van pass twice, Co Lang bay, the waterfalls where there was an option to swim (we didn't), mushroom farm, and a fishing village. The countryside was amazing, and the little villages we passed through were interesting. We loved our day trip. A great way to get the feel of rural Vietnam. Lunch was great too.
Can't recommend this company highly enough. Communication was good with Mr Phu.
Thank you guys.

My husband and I did the half day tour of the countryside from Hoi An as pillion passengers.
Neither of us had been on a motorcycle before and we are both on the wrong side of 70, but we had a great time.
Minh was our guide and my driver and I felt very safe on the back of his bike as we rode along dirt tracks, narrow bike paths, across narrow bridges and occasionally on the highway to link up the various areas.
It was great to get off the tourist trails and really see the countryside. Minh shared his extensive knowledge of the land, and we saw such a variety of countryside and crops under cultivation.
We had multiple stops for breaks, pictures and to stretch our legs, and Minh was very considerate of our comfort.
I’d highly recommend this trip.

We booked the 3 day Hoi an hue trip. We were initially told the price would be $1,190, however as this price was more than double their competitors I challenged it, and it was reduced to $950 for the two of us sharing a bike as another couple were to join us. They cancelled on the day. I believed that for such a premium price, and reading the itinerary of the things we would do and the places we would stay, it would justify it. How wrong I was!
Starting with the good. The riding was interesting, fun and varied.
The bad.
Accomodation. The first night we stayed in neither of the options listed, but rather stopped at 2pm in a dead end town at the edge of a major road. The hotel was exceptionally basic and the rooms noisy. The second night we stayed in lovely Hue but in an even worse hotel - cigarette burns in the sheets, no curtains, hot orange syrup and microwave coffee they took out of a locked fridge for breakfast. Both hotels were under $20 a night.
Food. Very basic roadside cafes, or a touristy restaurant. None of the home cooked food and local cooking as promised.
Safety. Despite requesting a M and L helmet we got a L ( very scratched visor) and XL ( no visor) which were incredibly dangerous when driving for a long time on the rain.
Itinerary. We didn’t stick to it, and did none of the activities listed. We simply drove around. The excuse was it was out of season, however never in any of the pre booking e mails did Simone mention the activities would be drastically different to those advertised.
Payment - we were pressured to pay in cash, which seemed odd. We could have done this tour for under $400 with another company. What a rip off, but more importantly, a waste of three precious days of holiday.

Hoi An is a beautiful place and it can be hard to draw yourself away, however this was an ideal day trip to see a different side of the area. My partner and I rode pillion each having our had our own driver. We also had an English speaking guide on another motorbike. They were all friendly and professional and we felt extremely safe throughout the day. We were able to sit back and enjoy the scenery knowing we were in capable hands. They were also flexible at each stop when we wanted to fly our drone to take some pictures.
The highlight of the tour was climbing up Son Tra as you got gorgeous views of the foliage, beach and sea. We also saw quite a lot of monkeys – one even flew over our heads as we were driving! The other highlight was visiting the rice paddies and Vietnam’s biggest Buddha statue.

We had the best day ever! We were picked up from our Hue hotel and dropped off at our Hoi An hotel in an old Russian Army jeep. In itself this was very cool but the stops and sights along the way were beautiful and the whole trip felt like a great adventure. Our tour guide, Ban, was incredible - so friendly, funny, helpful and knowledgable. We did the tour on Christmas Eve and knowing that this was a special day for us he went out of his way to make our experience perfect. Highlights were the Hai Van Pass and the beach stop but there were many other stops of great interest. Very highly recommended. If you plan to travel between Hoi An/Hue, it's a must!

We had great fun exploring the countryside of Hoi A lead by Minh and his team. We had regular drink/ice cream breaks to cool down as well as many ‘culture stops’ where we learnt about the local area. We covered 94km in 4/5 hours and we felt safe at all times. At the end, Minh sent us all of the photos and videos he had taken.

I went on the full day Hoi An and Beyond tour. As there were no group tours on my chosen date I paid an extra $30USD for a private tour. I also paid a $30USD surcharge for a Honda CRF300L as I'm fairly tall and not the lightest. (I ride a Husky 511) To my pleasant surprise the bike was brought to the hotel and right from the start my guide Tony (Minh) dove right into endless back lanes, across narrow rice paddy tracks and through small townships as we threaded our way through the outer suburbs of Da Nang. I'm an experienced long time road and dirt rider and I think Tony was testing me to see where we could go! I don't think we stuck completely to the script and I'm grateful for that.
After a quick coffee we headed up Hai Van Pass. Beautiful scenery over Da Nang Bay. The twisties were great and after a drink and photo op at the top we headed down the other side to have lunch at the beach overlooking Lang Co Bay.
The return trip was no less enjoyable - zooming down the twisties, then taking the beach road. We stepped the bikes up onto a very narrow pedestrian/rail bridge and again veered off, diving into a maze of back roads and laneways. as we headed south through Da Nang. We took a breather at the picturesque Han River Dragon Bridge before heading back through busy downtown Da Nang. Our final stop was a beautiful buddhist temple behind the Marble Mountains. You wouldn't know it was there unless a guide took you. We arrived back to the hotel just after 4pm.
Overall impressions? I loved it. Tony was an excellent guide and seemed to know what I wanted. He appeared to know Da Nang like the back of his hand. We covered around 180km. It's probably not the cheapest gig in town, but nor do you want that. It was 100% professional, the bike was late model & in excellent condition. It was worth paying the extra $60USD for a bigger bike and private tour. Pre-trip comms with HAMA from Australia was excellent (thanks Simone!)
Final note: HAMA requires a D/L plus international permit, although I was never asked to produce it. Also a 300cc is unlikely to be covered under any standard travel insurance. It is what it is and I felt I was in very safe hands - thanks again Tony! I'd like to go back and do a longer tour but in the meantime I cannot recommend HAMA highly enough.

We had a one day trip on a motorbike
We choose this operator because he was the only one to provide real helmet ( on paper).
We arrive in the garage, they told us there were not enough regular helmet for us so we will have to wear the skate board helmet!
Really usefull on a motorbike!!!!!
Then the motorbike!!!!!!!
My ride was really not well maintained! Almost no brake on the front, the tire were not adapt to the meteorological situation, the chassis was swinging in staight line and just dangerous on the bends!
Then after 4 hours riding my motorbike broke down!
I have lots more to tell but I don't want to lose more time wit this adventure!
Just don t go there!!!!

Hi Sarah, Our Higher Then Hai Van Pass tour goes over Son Tra mountain which has colonies of Macac Monkeys and Red Shanked langurs. We usually get sightings of both on these tours. If you email us direct we can give you more information.

Being an experienced licenced rider in Australia for over 35 years, is it possible for me to ride with my girlfriend as the pillion?
(we'll be in Hoi An 6th-11th November, 2016)

My hubby and I spent two days with these guys. As it was only us on the tour, it cost no more for me to go pillion with one of their drivers (I recommend Luc). Hubby (experienced rider) said he had a much more enjoyable time on his own bike, not having to worry about me!
