Charming historical place in Colonia del Sacramento. If you want to experience it at full, visit the tourist office nearby. They offer guided tour everyday (currently at 11 and at 15:30) for 150 UR$ per person. It is worth spending the money cause the Barrio...More
It is like living history when you walk on the cobblestones of the old town. If you take the walking tour, which is recommendable, the guide explains all about this old place that changed hands between spanials and potuguese seven times!
Second time here from the states an UNESCO world heritage site and it deserves it.
Beautiful preserved buildings seeped in history.
Photo ops all over, wish I waited a week or 2 for all flowers to be in bloom.

I bought the English walking tour through the ferry company Buquebus. I did not GET the English walking tour, however, since they didn't have anyone available to provide it in English! So buyer beware. Fortunately, my Spanish is adequate enough I was able to get something out of it nonetheless, but just know that buying the English touring doesn't necessarily mean you'll get it.
