Bad choice to limit time in Colonia. We have three nights and cherish every minute. - Q-trip: You need a guide for the details.

Charming historical place in Colonia del Sacramento. If you want to experience it at full, visit the tourist office nearby. They offer guided tour everyday (currently at 11 and at 15:30) for 150 UR$ per person. It is worth spending the money cause the Barrio...More

It is like living history when you walk on the cobblestones of the old town. If you take the walking tour, which is recommendable, the guide explains all about this old place that changed hands between spanials and potuguese seven times!

Combined a trip to Colonia and Montevideo, all booked through Burquebus who were excellent. Interesting guided tour around the old town with a guide who spoke excellent English. Apart from the historic aspects of the Portugese and Spanish era, there are pleny of restaurants.

I recommended to come for a day. Is lovely little town with a lot of style. It wasn’t busy when we visited. Lots of small cafes to choose to eat and have a drink.
