Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Yet another place with free entry. I visited during the evening after 4pm (do not visit during the middle of the day). The weather was good too. You might want to wear non-slippery shoes and have enough strength to walk through the stairs. Carry enough water (mandatory). Beautiful view. The fort is small and can stay around an hour as there is nothing else to do apart from the hike. No toilets are available.

Fantastic look at life gone by. A hard hike up the stairs rewards with awesome views of the surrounding scenery and the local lifestyle. Well worth a visit even in the summer. In the winter you could spend a few days exploring the area around there as it looks amazing for walks around the local farms and hikes around the foothills.

A scenic point easy to reach and a nice change of scenery. A walk up to the fort can take 20-30 min depending on tour fitness and walking speed. Once reached the top you are rewarded with a view across the RAK coast line and Mountain View. For photographers a nice spot to make some nice shots for your portfolio.

Liked the place. A bit tough but a good climb. Well maintained fort. Good view below. And the limestone mountain behind. Very far from Dubai. You have to time it so that you reach either early morning or early evening. Worth a visit

It is a nice place to be on the top & have a great view of Ras-Al-Khaimah. But the path to reach of the top was not very good. It was very dirty and one can find some bones lying on… If its clean its worth it!!!
Don't go here in summers or when is it day as it becomes very hot when you go up

Getting there was easy all on paved roads, but like others have said best to go off the main road after Google Maps instructs you to. You park opposite the Dhayah Guest House. The 150 plus steps are in good repair and not difficult for anyone with a reasonable standard of fitness. Young kids or the more elderly may struggle a bit especially in the full heat of the summer. The Fort itself is small but has been restored nicely. Some history on boards is provided. Views are good back to the mountains and towards RAK. Free entry. Worth a visit

Couldn't recommend a visit here enough. It's a climb and a half up the steps and in the sun (and made worse when you have a bad hips) but so worth it. Amazing views and history and very well kept. A must see.

This fort was on my RAK day tour. Once you climb to the top (and you need to be fit enough to do so), you get some very impressive views of the adjacent mountains and landscape. The fort itself gives a taste of the old history of this emirate. Worth a visit.

For whoever is interested to visit this fort while in RAK, please use this coordinate: 25.884383, 56.060622. Otherwise it's very likely you will be led to a quarry. Trust me you wouldn't want to go to that place - the road condition is bad and looks extremely deserted. In general the fort is OK - has not been maintained or preserved as it is supposed to be (since they claim this as a historical location). I won't strongly recommend you to see it but there are not much things in RAK so you may as well try it out. Good luck!
