Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Marmaris marina is lined with tourist attractions--a lot of folks take a cruise on a gullet or a yacht for hire and go out to beach/grotto type areas to swim and snorkel in the azure blue waters. Others offer sportfishing trips or just scenic sailing. The malecon or promenade surrounding the harbor is lined with restaurants while the city's bazaar or kaleici abuts the marina and is loaded with cheap souvenir and t shirt vendors along with shops hawking knockoff goods. We walked around, toured the castle (now a museum) overlooking the marina, and hoofed it around the colorful narrow pedestrian only lanes. Enjoyed the hour or so it took but wouldn't rank the area in our "top ten".

Wonderful place to eat and shop. Beautiful restaurants on the seafront where the the boats are. The “bars street” is very much a late night place and it’s just bars, clubs, kabab shops and tattoo parlours, so not everyone’s up of tea. It’s located the street behind the front water line coming from the far ride away from the city. The shops in the centre of the marina are also the barter cheap stores. I also found the 2 Turkish baths, which were very nice if you want to the cheaper local experience. Highly recommended.

Not a bad Marina but nothing out of the ordinary, but worth a walk around, shops are expensive.
Some good eateries but they do vary a lot in prices,so shop around before you eat.
Alacati is a good Café,good prices, good portions ,comfortable and well position to watch the world go buy.
Not to far from the bazzar so eat and shop or vice versa.

The marina is a great place to go see but the amount of hassle you get just walking past the restaurants is just silly.
We walk down must nights and if your not hassled by the boat people try to sell you a trip then your hassled by the large restaurants trying to get you in. This can be very off putting so I suggest you try a walk the furthest side away and you get less hassle.
Would be 5 star if it wasn't for all the hassle you have to contend with to have a quite walk around. I would return as some bars are good.

Lovely Marina at Marmaris. The marina has waterfalls & water fountains with plenty of eateries & shops next to it & close by! Easily accessed by the Dolmus bus network which is pretty cheap costing $1/15 TRY for any distance.

Been going to the beautiful marina for years . and it's changed so much over the years it seems to get more beautiful if that's possible.everytime we visit .l love going to see the boats and have taken some of my most memorable days from here .on a Boat/Gulet a lovely married couple an English lady called Caroline from Manchester and her Turkish husband Ozzy have given us some of the best days out on the Boat/Gulet MY LOVE it was called .they had it for years .but we have been going back to find them every time we visit . and unfortunately they've not been there for the past 4 years .I know they sold the boat but still worked it has the new owner was poorly .at the time.but we also know they was waiting to buy another Boat/Gulet⛵ would love to see them again after spending quite a few years of going out with them .but hopefully we are back in August just a couple of weeks away.and we just might find them while sat having a nice meal at one of the lovely restaurants in the evening .it truly is lovely the marina it becomes truly magical in the evening's . when it' gets busy and all the lights are on you can just have a nice stroll or just sit chatting to the lovely people Turkish or travellers from all parts of the world.im sure who ever spends time strolling or sitting watching the world go by will have lasting memories forever .

Aquarium boat was terrible. There was a very rude captain. They told us the ship had 2 floors, but it turned out to be 3 floors. It was like a refugee ship. People were sitting everywhere. It was very crowded and some remained standing. When we told them their mistake, they took us off the ship. Rude employees. Do not choose, you will be unhappy.
Çok kaba bir kaptan vardı. Bize gemi 2 katlı dediler fakat 3 katlı çıktı. Mülteci gemisi gibiydi. İnsanlar her yerde oturuyordu. Çok kalabalıktı ve bazıları ayakta kaldı. Hatalarını söylediğimizde bizi gemiden indirdiler. Kaba çalışanlar. Sakın tercih etmeyin mutsuz olursunuz.

Located at the foot of the hill on which the castle is placed. The busiest area of Marmaris, especially in the evenings. Clean, beautiful, well maintained buildings. Dozens of bars, restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops. Higher prices than in other areas. Lots of boats offering different excursions. Nearby is the Grand Bazaar.

Ресторанов морской еды в порту на набережной очень много,днём их можно узнать по установленным возле входа аквариумам ,а по вечерам рестораны выносят ко входу ледники на которых лежат морепродукты.

How far is the fishing area, is it close to harbour and land or far out in the sea. Also is it in choppy waters as i'm worried that being a small boat it might make my son sea sick.
Written 25 April 2019
Hi, apologies but not able to offer an answer to your question as our visit was around Marmaris town and the adjacent harbour.
From experience though the sea is always choppy a day or two before, during and after a storm (rain etc.). Hope that helps you.
Have a good trip if you decide to go.

Where is the closest us polo assn shop (for men) to marmaris? And how should I go (bus,metro...)? Thnk uu

Use the ‘dolmus’ taxi service. It runs everyday all day and is very cheap. There are hundreds of shops that sell all ‘brands’ of clothing so you won’t have difficulty finding anything

It is a matter of cost effiency. For me as a native of Marmaris area, it is not wise to make an arrangement for a boat to take you to and back from the Marina. Get into a mini-bus to the harbour and walk a bit, look around and enjoy your environment. These mini-busses are so frequent and so inexpensive that a local person in Marmaris will never think about hiring a small boat for a trip to and back from the Marina. If you have money to spill into the air you may hire a yacht to take you to the Marina from İçmeler.

Can you tell me what the Marina has there please and can you get a boat taxi from iclemer? Xx
Written 7 April 2015
a short bus ride from iclemer will cost you 3tyl about 8 minutes away but as your on holiday a boat ride will cost you 10tyl and very enjoyable cool breeze off the sea is better than a over packed bus
