Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The most beautiful point of Smyrna is its beach. Great sidewalk to walk on. Nice cafes to sit and restaurants to dine. Luxury hotels as well as the Ataturk museum on the beach. Everything you need for endless walks

In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful coastlines of Izmir. It is a perfect place for a walk or a picnic. It is a coastal strip where we can say lie on the grass and enjoy. There is also a bicycle track and playgrounds for children. There is also a tram that goes along the beach.

My home is 1 min walk from Kordonboyu, so I walk there a lot. Love the views, mini train, greenery and the sea, but it’s always too crowded. Impossible to run after 9a.m. People leave trash everywhere, walk through the bicycle track, bbqing. Great place to have a beer with the view or run early in the morning.

You should walk along the coast. Try to discover right places to have your drink, eat and rest. I have been having my beer in Venezia since 1985. Its alternative is buying beer from shop and lying on the grass (especially night times during the summer). If you are lucky you see the wonderful sunset. I like to be there whole year but specially sunny days of winter time.

Spend 2 days in Izmir for my business trip. Our hotels were located in the walking distance and this area is perfect for walking, cycling or sitting at one of the cafes to watch the beautiful view.

It is one of the most popular streets of Izmir. Full of little restaurants and cafes. The guys in the shops and cafes are almost forcing you to sit their place. Service is too slow and in most cases they serve the wrong foods. It is not a pricy area but you still think that it was not worth after all. The only good place I've tried was Balikci Hasan (fisher Hasan). Fish was so tasty but they did the typical trick of Turkish restaurants : they doubled the bill buy adding some extras I did not eat/drink. Do not forget to check bill in details before you pay.

We love slow strolls along sea fronts so the Kordonboyu was perfect for us.

It was about 11pm and we'd been at the beach all day so we were really looking forward to a nice meal and a beer. After that we smoked a bit and then walked back to our hotel in Konak. it took about an hour to get back to our hotel.

The promenade is busy, but not too busy, and interesting to walk down. The North end has lots of outside seating bars/cafes which is always very lively. After that, there is the Konak Pier which has shops, the Feribot terminal which has some local food being sold, then a little park as you get closer to Konak. After Konak bus station area it gets a little less interesting, locals fishing and the smell of sewerage wafting in off the sea. Give that area a miss if you've a delicate nose :)

Sunsets are very nice, nearly every night we were there, the sunsets were red.

Funny how the best things to see are often free.

Kordonboyu is the perfect place to end up the day: side by side the Egean and its promenades are the background to take a flavoured turkish coffee or a çai (tea) watching the sunset on the horizon.

We walked up and down the Kordon at various times of day and it was always pleasant. All the ferry terminals are here. There is a bike lane all along. At weekends the grassy area is full of people going out for a day by the sea. Unfortunately, not all of them are nature conscious, so the grass is often littered with various sorts of garbage, from shells from the midiye dolma, to plastic bottles. One night, while we were enjoying the sight of the gulf by moonlight, a man started screaming loudly, very loudly and repeating over and over again the same words which we couldn't understand; we thgought- poor guy... A few minutes later we understood that the "poor guy" was actually warning everyone to step off the grass, because the sprinklers came in at full debit! Very considerate! There are plenty of restaurants to choose from on the land side of the Kordon, most of them offering terraces open towards the sea.
