Antep house in Hanifioglu Road in Bey Ward which has the best sight/scenery of old city structure of Antep with its narrow roads, passages, hewn stone walls and houses with clay roofing tiles. The building has changed the owner by time, finally bought by businessman late Mr. Hasan SUZER when it was ruined and damaged. And after completing its restoration... More

According to what the granddaughter of the original owner has told me, the rugs seems to be the original rugs that were in the house. However she could not be sure as she has not seen them up front.

The contents are not exciting, except for Lawrence of Arabia's motorbike. (Not the one he was killed on.) if indeed it has the real provenance!? The house is still worth visiting, especially since it is in the old part of town.

This ethnography museum, which is situated in an old Armenian house, displays very professionally and aesthetically all the details of the daily life in the region back in 19th century. You witness clothes, decoration, traditions, tools, ceremonies, furniture representing the period. This is a house that has become a museum showing how well teh middle/upper classes lived in the 19th Century. Lovely museum. Star Exhibit a ratty old motorbike that belonged to Lawrence of Arabia.
