Awe-inspiring ancient theatre

Truly stunning restoration work. My friend entered the area and actually exclaimed out loud "wow!" which just about summed it up.

You have to be fit though to get to it, as it is on a mountain slope. Very well preserved/restored..

Well preserved, Greek and Roman amphitheatere and easy to include in a walking circuit with the hot spring pools. Just head off to the upper right from the pools. Great views over the valley too.

For heaven't sake stop cslling amphithater, theather!!@ they are not!!!. Amphi means two thesther together phorming 360 degree. A theather is 180 degree... Ufff i cant believe people dont bother to check this stuff. Ok; as a whole this Roman (no Greek) theather is in a very good shape and it has a very useful information on the site.

Dont visit Turkey without visiting this site. You will want to spend a good 3-4 hours here. You can swim here so bring swimwear and towel.

We think that a lot of visitors to the natural wonder that is the travertine pools for Pamukkale don't get as far as the adjoining city of Hieropolis. GREAT SHAME - they do not know what they are missing! As well as a very impressive amphitheatre (HUGE) a lot remains of the ancient city which sprung up to serve the... More

Beautiful place to visit, shame that doesn't seem to be looked after by the government. Bring your own snacks and fluids as difficult to find decent eating places around it.
