Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just managed to scoot around this museum fast in remaining time left.
Visited on a small group tour of entire site and would have like to have spent a little more time here.
Small ,well laid out.

I visited the Hierapolis Archeology museum by myself while my family were wondering through the terraces. If you enjoy Roman archeology this is a must see, housed in former Roman baths you get a real sense of how the Roman’s treated their dead. Although parts of courtyard were closed off there is still plenty to see. The ornate Roman sarcophagus’ were a high light for me.

When you are done with the Travertine Pools, go and explore the ruins of Hierapolis and you will not be disappointed by this "sacred city" supposedly founded by Apollo.
Walk around the nymphaeum or through the temple of Apollo, which is in ruins. Then go upto the awe inspiring Amphitheatre and sit there a while to admire. There is also a church in ruins and the Martyrium where St Philip was killed.
Take a moment to re-live history amidst these beautiful ruins

The museum is located in part of the old Roman Baths and so the museum itself is an exhibit. The museum is quite small, many of the artefacts found in Hierapolis and the surrounding area have been relocated to Antalya and other places, perhaps space was an issue. However the items on display are interesting and well presented. There is a variety of reliefs, statues and sarcophaguses on display inside, as well as many relics outside in the garden, but perhaps the outstanding feature is the stonework within the ancient baths.

This is a great place to visit after the total experience of the ruins of Hieropolis. Many of the best preserved pieces of antiquity are here to be kept in safety. Excellent!!

Nice museum with finds from Hierapolis, Laodicea, and other excavation sites in Denizli. Comprised of three galleries and a garden, the sarcophagi in the Tombs and Statues Gallery are beautiful and the highlight of the museum. Entrance is 5TL.
