What an incredible place. Dating back BC and evolving, getting deeper, as the Romans improve the construction with their technology. A site not too be missed. You weave your way through the labyrinth with a guide listening to the history of this magnificent site. They have just found another underground city even bigger. Incredible. If you've the slightest interest in... More

I was hesitant doing the tour as I am claustrophic but it was a pleasant trip to the 'dungeons'. The tour was very pleasant and except for one or two spots, I did not feel uncomfortable at all. It was a good experience to be able to see how people lived in the olden time. it's a tour I would... More

Surreal experience traveling downward into this underground city... no sunlight... no windows.... incredible to believe people actually lived in these caves... as I bent my head to avoid the cave walls above me I imagined what I would do if I needed a quart of milk... To think that hundreds of families lived in these caves for protection and safety,... More

This ancient underground city has to be seen to be believed. Take a guide with you - but bargain hard on price, they will rip you off if you let them. Bargain to half or less the price first offered. There are many guides to choose from.

Had an absolutely knowledgeable and friendly guide MALIKI who with her detailed and her vast knowledge made us picture the real life in the caves thousands of years ago.!! The days happenings ,cooking ,life, protection taken against enemies, food resources while hiding for months underground!!!was fascinating walking in their footsteps. It's an unforgettable experience! You can never miss this attraction!!!

Wow what an interesting place where the Christians hid and took refuge in the Middle Ages and beyond. "City" is a bit of a misnomer as what one sees are endless tunnels on a number of levels and hundreds of rooms off the tunnels to enable general activities of daily living to take place. I don't recommend undertaking a tour... More

Another fascinating experience in this area. We went down into the underground city - beware the ceilings can be very low and claustrophobic - but don't be put off. Its hard to believe the people actually lived down there after they had tunnelled it out. I admire the strength of the people who lived there but in desperate times you... More

This tour was just incredible. The city was smaller than the other underground cities open to the public in Cappodocia but the lighting and guided tour was amazing. We learnt about how they lived over a thousand years ago but also experienced it - right down to climbing up cave ladders cut into vertical shafts (definitely not for those with... More
