    Stunning !
Stunning works of wind and water erosion ! Must visit for folks who love nature and history. Avoid traveling is summer due to lack of shady trees in the area. Taking a tour is recommended

The fairy houses are birthed and they also die
Due to erosion, the fairy chimneys are changing. I loved that my tour guide gave them personality. As she stated, the fairy chimneys are born and are dying. Hopefully, they will be preserved for many years to come. Truly a wonderful place to walk through.

    Mother Nature’s Handiwork
Fairy Chimneys were formed by combination of rocks, ash, wind, water and time. These unique rock formations of Cappadocia are like no others in the world. Over time, the column collapses. The basalt rock cap will fall and rest on top of the softer tuff rock layer. With wind and rain, hot and cold temperature, millions of year of erosion, another chimney will be born underneath where the harder basalt cap rock sits.

    Magical Place
A magical place to be in. The magnificent landscape and panorama feel like you are in a fairyland. The stone formations are breathtaking, and the view is something out of this world. As someone from an Asian country, it is really a wonderful experience to be there.

    Certainly worth seeing !!!
Really interesting to see this magical place with thousands of fairy chimneys carved out of Volcanic rock. It is a magical place to be in. Both the place and its name are like straight out of fairy tale . We were told that the fairy chimneys are natural yet surreal-looking spires up to 130 feet (40 meters) tall that were carved out of soft volcanic rock by the elements over millions of years. There is a café where visitors could sit ,have a drink , relax to enjoy the breathtaking view of this magnificient landscape with panoramic feel . Certainly worth seeing !!!

Not such a big place, but surely an interesting one. You need about 1 hour to walk through it all.
The historically living areas are quite busy, so you will need to wait in a line to be able to climb to some accommodation in the museum. But I would say that it's still worth it.

Part of our Gate 1 travel tour, we visited the Fairy chimneys which were formed by rocks, ash, wind and water over time. Unfortunately, due to erosion , the columns are changing the basalt rock cap is cracking, hopefully they will stand for much longer and be preserved. You walk around them and take pictures as you are admiring them.

Wow!! What unusual geological formations formed over the years by wind and water eroding volcanic rocks. As you wander around them, it's hard to imagine what the area looked like before there was that erosion. Should be on the "to do" list of anyone visiting Cappadocia.
