Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A nice quiet place for a stroll or to lay and watch ships pass by. There is even a little cafe to walk over to for some tea and food.

We scooted down the coast to Dardanos which is a little beach ville just south of Canakkale. You can take the C-11G bus down there from the bus stop in front of the main ferry pier in Canakkale. There are 3 bus stops in Dardanos but they're small so keep your eyes open and let the driver know when you want off. The stops are fairly close together so if you miss one you don't have very far to walk to get where you're going. From Canakkale it takes no more than 30-minutes to get there. The bus runs every half hour on weekends. Every 15-minutes during the work week. The fare is 3 Lira or a dollar US. You have to pay with a Kent Kart which is a small card that they sell at news stands and small groceries all over town. Just walk in the store and ask 'Kent Kart?' 14 Lira will pay for the card and round trip fares for two people. You cannot pay with cash on the bus. If you're lucky some other passenger will have mercy on you, pay with their card and then you can reimburse them. It helps to carry coins around with you in Turkey. The smallest denomination note they have here is 5 Lira.
There's a long narrow beach with fine-grained sand. There was a stiff breeze blowing when we arrived and few people about. Two of the beach-side cafes have chairs and umbrellas which you can use for free as long as you're ordering food or drinks. In Turkey; ordering a single can of Coke entitles you to 4-hours minimum lounge time.
The beach is on the Dardanelle Strait. Little fishing boats ride anchor and fat gray Gulls pluck Sardines from the shallow turquoise waters. You can watch the parade of merchant vessels running the Straits. Look left and you'll see the end of the Gallipoli Peninsula and the Aegean Sea. With a pair of binoculars you can see the Greek island of Lesbos.
There's a single sand-blown road that comprises the town's main street. Cafes and condos stretch along the way for about 300-meters. There's a big building boom going on in the area with no apparent limit to the number of investors willing to build low-rise condominium resorts. Looks like Florida in 2007. Oh boy. The only real restaurant is the 'Tekel Bufe'. Good food with indoor and outdoor seating. Lunch for the two of us with drinks came to 36 Lira plus we sat there for 3 hours. Live music at night.
The place is quiet and relaxing. Good spot to catch some rays, read a book and watch the world float by.

Beach is nice and quite place where to relax in this season.
I imagine this during the hot season as a busy place.
Nice to view sunset here and the ships movement.

We stayed with my wife because our post-wedding wedding in Dardanos was in Çanakkale. Unfortunately as a former ÇOMU professor, it was too bad. We paid $3,000 a day and asked for a double room because the first four-bed room was given, then they gave us a room with stairs inside, but the rooms are not practical at all. TV downstairs next to the bed, the room was cold, though there were no blankets etc, the water was not very hot and bad, the bathroom door was bad because it fit the place where you stood in the sink, the lighting was very bad, I saw it very hard to make makeup, the buffet breakfast was nice, we wanted glasses to drink vitamin C in the room reception said no glasses in the room, we already caught the cure on the turn in Ankara, since my brother had stayed before, the single-story double rooms were better but this room with this staircase was never useful. There are general problems at the property, broken towel rack, no makeup table, no TV in front of bed, etc. With interior architecture and tourism departments, maybe a temporary or more professional hotel management can produce lasting solutions. Of course, the only plus is the beachfront facility, but as an assistant, we went to the fish restaurant we mentioned before we went to the sea in 2004 with my mother-in-law, and hopefully we went to the sea but the hotel part was not good, we chose it because we could not stay at our own home in Çanakkale because of the wedding.

Dardanos has a very clean and cold sea which is best for me. It is very near to Canakkale city center and sunset is wonderful especially swimming in the sunset will be wonderful.

Thats tiny cosily free beach on close-countryside in Canakkale. You can get there by using buses which passes through central canakkale stops, Thats much preferable beach for traveling around Canakkale

Swam here - lovely sandy beach, sun loungers, and has changing rooms and showers. Also a beach bar with shaded area.

It is generally too crowded and has a small beach. The sea is nice and sandy but usually a bit cold. It takes 30-45 minutes by bus from city centre. It is an average place to swim but the bosphorus view is perfect, especially sunset.

Sadly there were jellyfish in the water when we got there which was a bit off-putting. Sun beds were ok, but it's a very narrow beach. Main issue was another person almost chain-smoking beside us - it's a shame that smoking is allowed and would put me off ever going again - because it's a small narrow beach, there's nowhere to escape to.
